Not a positive either, just different.I agree, but I think a problem with Bay's stuff was that it used almost nothing from the namesake property, while taking much more inspiration from 80's scifi horror movies that had been borrowed from to death for the previous two decades. Someone tells you "They're making a Transformers movie" and you get excited, but then you actually watch it and it's nothing you loved about the franchise, padded out with a garbage, cliche script and US military masturbation.
And then it dragged on for ten years.
