I picked up the WF catalogue that came out today, and it’s grim.

Usually Medicos list all the stuff they have planned, usually about 3 or four figures, the idea being it’s what they have planned for the show.

This time all we have is “Gyro Second” and that’s it. Not saying there won’t be any surprises at the show but for now it’s time to suck it in and set your expectations low.

Good God, no. Please no reissue of the old Polnareff. This would suck so much, especially considering that they could easily fix that atrocious sculpt by crossing it with some of their better muscular upper body sculpts, like the Pillar Men. Polnareffs shoulders are such an insult.

Not a dumb question if you haven't preordered with them before. You'll get an invoice for the item+shipping and applicable fees once they receive the shipment at their distribution center.

SAS are normally 0.5-6 kg so expect to pay the rate of any method at that weight.

Additionally, don't worry too much about the shimpent method you picked at checkout. Once the figure releases and you get the actual payment confirmation, they'll calculate all of the shipping option costs and you can pick a different option depending on the price/delivery time that works best for you when you go in to pay. You used to have to email their customer service if you wanted to get a different shipping quote and change your selection but they have thankfully fixed that and automated the process to be more customer friendly.

Also, a lot of people here will warn you about order cancellations from amiami and tell you that just a single cancel is enough to get you banned for life but it really isn't. If you preorder something and then change your mind before they request payment, they're generally ok with that, just so long as you don't make a habit of it. They also don't like people ordering something that has been released and then cancelling. Basically, just use common sense when ordering or cancelling and don't do it regularly and you'll be fine.

Myfigurecollection is my usual go-to for general information reference on figures. Otherwise you can lurk Medicos's main website and these threads for any particular info dumps. Though you missed out when these threads were far more active than they are now since the line has declined in releases versus the old schedule.

I just bought Giorno 1st, GER 1st, Diavolo, all three King Crimsons, Polnareff V, and SC V to finish off my VA collection out of paranoia that the prices are going to slam up when the anime gets into full swing. Too paranoid? I know a few figures got way more expensive as the anime got to their parts.

We really don't know if there's gonna be a reissue, it's likely, but not given, and there's no way a reissue would be as cheap as the ones available right now. Also, a reissue might be not as good as the original, since the paintjobs arn't as sharp as they used to be, and a reissue might end up looking more like giorno second who has a noticeably worse paintjob, and if at that point you were to decide to go with the non-reissue one, it would be hard to tell them apart from stock photos.
Also, I feel like a reissue would have the new Giorno Second waist joint, which isn't inherently a problem, you just have to decide if you want a slightly uglier but more functional joint, or a smoother one that doesn't break up the sculpt but requires you to be a bit more careful with the ladybug that rests on it, since it might pop out (Not a big deal btw, happened to me, got it back in place with the smallest drop of glue I've ever used). I lean strongly towards getting it now but I still hope this will help you make your own decision.

I use these as well, they are a god send.
Here's my display. It's a tad chaotic but I may change it up soon. I try to keep each part in a line but some bleed over onto like 3 of those plates because there's an odd number of characters in a certain part.
Here's most of mine, some on the edges are cut off in the pic.

Cool, man. I've actually built it myself, and here's a word of advice if you're a beginner like me: don't print them out the way they are. You have to make them a bit bigger somehow (I'm still trying to figure that out). I did that, and the SAS part 3 Dio I have can't sit in the driver's seat. It has to be big enough for him to sit there.

I'm gonna buy some action figures. My favorite JoJo's are Joseph (young) and Jo2uke. But since Vento Aureo is confirmed, prices may escalonate, so I'm going to pick Joseph and Giorno.

Question is - I'm trying to follow the anime colors. Should I get WF Joseph (which is way expensier than regular Joseph)? I'm getting him mostly because of the brown hair. Or I should get a regular Joseph and try to dye it's blue hair to brown hair?

WF has the benefit of the smirking face over Joseph 1st so consider that. Otherwise it's not a bad idea to repaint the heads if you want to be a little cost effective. Citadel or Vallejo paints are the go-to for SAS colors customs.

If you've not painted in quite a while, I recommend watching Duncan's tutorials on the WarhammerTV channel. Despite it being GW he really does a fantastic job teaching advanced techniques.

Blue Gio is available but you're split between the recent Giorno 2nd and WF Gio. Personally WF Gio looks a lot nicer due to the shine of the plastic combined with the excellent paint job.

Realistically never and I'm being blunt about this. Medicos isn't GSC where they can do alt versions for characters like them. Jotaro and Dio have the major benefit of being such popular and critically known characters. Don't hope for stuff like that and start to learn about customs. I know the Part 5 train is exciting but Medicos will probably do some basic or interesting recolors and reissue the obvious people while ignoring specific ones.

Hey /SAS/, I need some help. I was getting my figures out of their boxes and into my display case in my new place after they had been stored away for awhile, and could use some advice on an issue old and an issue new.

My Bites the Dust Kosaku Kawajiri head came to me with paint issues, and I was wondering if anyone would have any advice on dealing with those. In case the photo isn't clear, he's got dark green paint smudged on his nose and chin.

Soft & Wet's head joint snapped off in one of his heads when I was trying to change them. The Kira head issue I can live with since his regular head is fine, but the S&W issue is a major problem for me. Anyone have any advice?

The neck peg thing happened to my killer queen as well. Personally, I couldn't find a way to reliably fix it, so I drilled a small hole in both halves of the neck peg and put in a small piece of a metal paperclip in the hole, like a peg. The neck is basically reduced to a swivel joint now, but at least his head's on. As for kosaku, I can't actually see the problem.

I also think there's too many green ones and too many blue ones, but at least there's different shades of blue and green. Outside of Killer Queen, the pink ones all seem to be the same sort of really vibrant neon pink.

Same thing happened to my josuke, it's an easy fix. Took a piece of metal (snapped the tip off a needle, but I'm sure you can do better) heat it up and stick it in the ball joint, right were you can see it broke. Once it cooled down I used pliers to yank it out of the head, took out the needle, heated it again, sticked it in what was left of the neck joint, put the ball on it since it already had a hole, glued ot back together, and then finally filed the ball with a nail file to make it smaller for future head swappings. Now it's like new, the head stays on and doesn't require a dangerous amount of force to come off, I'll see if I can hook you up with a similar guide I saw.

I completely forgot this was in Italian but the pictures are really all you need since there isn't any crucial information written. And yeah, good old superglue seems to do the trick, I pinned it for some extra strength but it doesn't seem to be necessary. If you actually decide to pin it remember not to go too deep into the neck to keep the articulation intact. But really, this fix takes just a few minutes and works perfectly, and this is coming from someone who is absolutely shit at this kind of stuff.

Using a mixture of your advice and the guide's, I got there! I was totally unable to get a needle tip deep enough into the ball joint/neck joint for that added stability, so I just went with superglue. Hopefully it's good enough!

I gotta ask though, how did you heat your needle tip up/push it into the plastic? I tried both fire from a lighter and a hair dryer and wasn't able to have much success with that. It's a tactic I want to use for a figma Samus I've got with a similar issue for her torso joint.

Definitely going to remember to heat up my figures before head swapping, however.

+ Paint is pretty decent, given some of the small details in his face

- Tail is a ballache to get on as you have to swap out the waist piece. I recommend a hair dryer. The snap as the legs come out and then back in is a bit heart attack inducing.
- His neck joint pops out of the chest really easily
- His exclusive face is a little deadpan.

By "his legs coming off" you're literally pulling them off the same T-Joint that almost all SAS use. That's what makes it kind of scary. The legs feel like they aren't meant to come off.

So to answer your question, not really because there's still an ugly T-joint there.

I’m wondering what mistakes they made to land them in financial hardships. Honestly I don’t think it’s due to character choice and other common complaints seen in these threads since fans would eat that shit up regardless. Most SAS have sold well regardless of their flaws.

I’m actually wondering if it was the profit margin. The paint on SAS, especially from before about 3 years ago was often stellar compared to similarly priced Figma and SHF, I wonder if they just didn’t get a large enough return due to a higher cost of production.

The general nature of not using cheap paint like you're saying is a must; however, I honestly don't believe their qc is a priority. I think maybe certain aspects of the line were heavily focused on, which lead to mismanagement elsewhere. I think this is an issue that only really pertains recently over the last two or three years. Exclusives didn’t used to be such a big deal because fundamentally you could get the figure in another color way through retail.

You can send a sternly written email but they won't refund you if it's missing some small pieces.Did the listing note the items? There should be a description area about that if they are included or not because if it actually notes about the bonus parts not included then you're screwed.

Wasn't it the fact the seller withheld those parts (and probably resold them at a markup). If Mandarake puts up the listing and notes that the bonus items are there then you should be safe. Only way to tell now is when they arrive but if they really aren't there (check the entirety of the package carefully and inside the box + plastic tray) then email them, screenshot the listing details about the bonus items being with the order and make a case.
