I came across this "recommended" article thrown at me of a Hasbro Black Series vs. Bandai SHFiguarts Mimban Stormtrooper comparison, and decided to read it, assuming the kind of curb stomp review of what happens when you put a comparatively lower-quality Black Series against an SHF. I assumed too much. The reviewer is dumb as shit.

I'll let you read it yourself, but this guy seems desperate to justify his bias for the Black Series collection on the main basis of "MUH SCALE" with the rest of his collection, eventually coming to say "I like both", despite putting so many points against the smaller SHF in comparison. To put it...
>the BS has a better helmet than the SHF
>the BS has a better weathered paint job than the SHF
>the BS has better two-handed weapon articulation than the SHF
Never mind that...
>the BS doesn't look like the promo picture in sculpt or paint like the SHF does
>the BS doesn't look consistent with the mud/dirt effects to the promo picture like the SHF does
>there's more articulation to a figure besides two fucking elbows and the SHF can do more poses than the BS is capable of
I get people have arbitrary preferences with toys, and that's fine. To each their own. Price and accessibility are also legitimate concerns. I even see the Hasbro toys on a daily basis at work, and fairly note that Hasbro has gotten WAY BETTER overall with their toys over the years, to where sometimes they can actually respectfully recreate an actors/actresses likeness in a good face sculpt/paint. I'd even buy some of the Marvel Legends figures that don't have an SHF equivalent. But ever since I started buying SHF Marvel and Star Wars figures, even I realize there's literally no fair comparison, and haven't bought any BS figures in years because of that. To qualify a BS as being overall better than an SHF is dumb as shit.
