I own a bunch of different types of figures (see:
http://is2.4chan.org/toy/1531904107812.jpg ); and very rarely does an import ever have value comparable to what it actually costs. Even the figures in that image don't feel like they're worth the price, except for NECA's. $20 ML is roughly the base value of what an action figure measuring ~6" should cost.
From there, you can actually see the incremental cost like that NECA figure having more joints, better QC, more paint, etc and it was $25. You can see those features increase with the price across other lines as well. Then there are companies like McFarlane who give you more value for the same price as an $20 ML.
At around $40, you start noticing the diminishing returns. Articulation isn't increased much. Paint isn't getting better, nor is QC. You may get electronics or metal pieces, but these aren't actually that expensive, considering you can get this shit from happy meals and other cheapo prize toys. With imports, most of their cost is just market differences, where they charge more because they sell fewer toys. So Mezco, 3A, etc are overpriced even when compared to their previous releases.
This Hellboy figure reminds me a lot of 3A's releases and their stuff is generally in the $60 range. For $30 more, ....eh.... I mean, I'll still buy it, but it's definitely overpriced.
