I wasn't even planning on buying ONE POTP Jazz since I'm still happy with RTS Jazz, but then I found one on clearance for $8.99 after failing to find any Terrorcons and said "whatever"

Shoulder lock don't work.
Sticky paint on helmet, no ideal if the DD version has this issue.

The shoulders don't lock into place in robot mode because they're not sized properly, but like I said you can buy a set of small parts off shapeways that you just have to superglue in space (it's easy) and then they lock in fantastically.

-Blitzwing specifically has trouble with his head borrowing the spinning head gimmick from his animated counterpart, and it's super easy to break trying. His retools/redecos don't have this issue.

Aside from lack of a waist swivel and the shoulder issue, it's actually a great figure, just the shoulder issue is a pretty massive problem if you don't fix it.

It should be common knowledge with people at this point that outside of a one in a thousand thing or a temporary trend, toys from the 1980s and before only increased in value because no one back then thought to preserve the toys, and/or not open them.

Doubledealer at least has a very pretty deco. I love his blues. And for whatever reason mine holds together better than my Blitzwing does. There's lots of guides or shapeways options like others have said for fixing his shoulders; it's very little effort.

And I actually prefer this Blitzwing over the TR one. I honestly think he looks really nice. I got this one cheap off ebay with the upgrade kit that gives him a better fitting head, missiles, and shoulder locks. Those help a lot.

Got my Ollie's overlord. They had quite a few left which seems consistent with what other anons have posted. Ollies is pretty ghetto but looked like a decent place for deals. Also has octone for 13 but i didn't get him.

The two longest reviews are “Nice little bot. Very sturdy plastic, nice moulding. A few spree marks but nothing serious. Well worth the price, even if I do wish he came in purple!”

Anyone have a character you like but don't feel totally satisfied with any single figure of it so you end up not buying any figure?
I've always really liked Shockwave but I don't like his G1 version because it's a little too goofy, the Beast Hunters version was pretty good but the transformation was a mess and it had no working ankles, and the DOTM version wasn't as cool as the CGI model made it out to be.

I don’t believe /tfg/ leaks, but a thread ago I saw someone mentioning that a Double Dealer is going to be in WFC, and man, I know he was wrong(mostly because apparently his source was character bios no one else has seen), but I just want to believe. WFC aesthetic is badass and much better than t30, so I’m sitting here waiting for him. I want that Double Dealer and I liked how he was described as a separate menace for Autobots in those bios.

Fun Pub's Transtech is so fucking lame. They didn't have the balls to make an actual Beast Machines sequel and explored the future of that continuity, and instead did a pointless AU. All the characters have boring robotic personalities and its completely pointless for any of them to share names and designs with the transtech concept. I liked the idea that Transtech would further merge the technoorganic thing, so that vehicle modes could have technoorganic elements and the robot modes were further pushed into more extreme looks.

I hate how both Combiner Wars things were so damn disappointing given the name.

For the record warden is greater than archer. Here’s the whole lineup of 2.0 decepticons. Really weak lineup with some odd choices like Ultra RID Bruticus and then Universe 2.0 combiner Bruticus. Also many non combining combiner figures like Onslaught. Archer was shit and right up there with those Botcon organizer lions.

I have had no qc issues with any of them except Cutthroat. His tail halves won't stay connected together in arm mode and his bird head likes to pop off, but goes right back on.

I personally hated Hun-grr's dumb back legs so I sawed his feet off and flipped them over so they work like actual legs should.

MP cons are weak as fuck, except for the Diaclone repaints. MP seeker mold is painfully outdated, Megatron is a paint scratching mess with a shitty transformation and Soundwave is possibly one of the most overrated toys I've ever bought. Like I feel like people only loved him because he existed, and Soundwave is pretty popular even with normies.

So the best MP cons are Loudpedal, Exhaust and Nemesis Prime, sadly. If you're a cartoonfag who is just looking for display pieces, you can buy whatever and probably be satisfied, but if you actually want good toys... eh.

Anon check Cutthroat's thigh swivels, I had the same problem with mine and I noticed that one of his thighs wasn't on correctly. Had to shave down the peg a little (I can post a diagram if anyone cares) and now his arm mode works much better. As for the bird head, it's possible the holes aren't quite big enough and the pegs aren't going in fully, I measured the holes and the pegs and them drilled them every so slightly, also fixed. Couldn't tell you what size the holes needed to be, already forgot!

I've had Starscream and Soundwave once already. My only real G1 nostalgia is from watching the G2 reruns and a few G2 toys as a kid with comics rebirth from Dreamwave and the old movie.
I plan on getting the Seekers, at least SS and Thundercracker eventually, might just get KOs since I'm just wanting them for shelf space. I want Loudpedal since I like that mold, same with Exhaust. Not really into getting repaints like Black Convoy.

All of the Power of the Primes toys come packed randomly with one of 12 different cards that give a different Prime-based power. Ten of these cards are irrelevant to the rest of this paragraph, but of the final two, one uses male pronouns and the other uses female pronouns. (the female card was discovered before the male card, and for that day and a half or so, the toy was known affectionately as "Cindysaur") Maybe someone got their wires crossed and accidentally used Slash's pronouns on one of the cards, but the new Cindersaur head is sculpted the way Hasbro tends to sculpt their women characters: there's lips and a smile and some softened features.
Or, we could just take the text as given and determine that Cindersaur is genderfluid. They're male sometimes, female sometimes, and, heck, maybe it changes depending on which Prime Master is plugged in. That's my take-away, anyway.

Is it worth getting a KO MP for parts? I have a hairline fracture on Shockwave's laser sight, Ratchet's chrome is a bit scuffed and the paint on his arm has chipped, and one of Ironhide's pistols is dented on the handle from forcing it.

Was also thinking of painting the KOs up too into Radio Shackwave, Diaclone Ironhide and Marvel Comics Ratchet.

I suspect they're going to dole out the Seeker repaints year by year, not all three of the main ones at once. They have three years mapped out. They don't need to blow their main seeker wad in Siege. Especially if they plan to do the Coneheads, Rainmakers and/or and the new Trinity of Sunstorm, Acid Storm and Slipstream. That'd be up to a dozen nearly identical $30 toys over three years with only a head or wing design diffence in the mold. I can see a few as shop Exclusives just to keep them from clogging shelves too.

I wonder if we'll get the Cassettes as Battle Masters. They really don't need to be tapes anymore. Just attach to Blaster or Soundwave somehow as weapons or something and it'd be fine. It would definitely make that size class feel less of a throwaway to be ignored as well.

I don't know, $220 shipped for BW Megatron is pretty good. Dinobot is also not that bad of a price. They just need to get their shit together when it comes to pricing their cars now. My biggest issue isn't price, it's that they lost the ambition to do anything unique for the G1 branch.

yes and no, between the legends version and the tr they're about the same on both, sorta lose but functional, the tr has the usual hasbro mass production paint defects but least for the price I expect it unlike takara's

Can't recommend it.

I got the TR version while skipping on Sentinel Prime, and ended up hating it. It's floppy, the alt modes suck and it's just a poor representation of the character.

Got the Legends version when I found a good deal on it. The colors are nicer but it just doesn't help that much. I ended up replacing it with Fancy Cell Toys' Transportation Captain and I'm still much happier with it.

I think that only really applies to G1 MPs, because pure-Sunbow designs look like boring crap. Instead of spicing up the robot mode a bit with alt mode details for a cleaner vehicle like they used to do, they now make the alt modes a jigsaw panel mess when it didn't need to be.

With BW MPs you've already got a good-looking robot design and a decent beast, with just the hurdle of making one turn into the other. Dinobot's beast suffers for sure but he had an exceptionally bullshit transformation to begin with.

They shouldn't have. I would have preferred compromise in both modes and a sensible transformation. Now we have a super accurate robot mode, a shit Dino mode, and a garbage transformation. This is not how you make a good toy. This is how you make a display piece to placate collectors with autism. Therein lies the problem of the entire MP line.
