What are the chances of us getting a big Ridley Figma or something to go with the Samus figures we've gotten?
Anonymous
>>7070449 That depends on how much goodsmile value the western market. Ridley isn't super popular in japan. Some of them over there were actually angry he even got in smash because most of his fanbase is in the west.

I can't believe I just paid $55 for a splatoon plushie. I didn't notice only ems and SAL parcel were available. Never used parcel, but I assumed it was like small packet SAL in that it was only $6-7. Nope. Costed more than the actual plush itself. It had to have JUST been too big to qualify for small packet, I guess. Was only like $3 cheaper than ems, so I figured might as well just pick ems. Now it's on the woomy express. At least I'll get it quick...I mean, I didn't really get myself anything for my birthday the other day, so I guess this counts?

Distribution for World of Nintendo seems even more abysmal since Toys R Us gone stateside. I can't find their recent wave with Hammer Bro and Iggy at a reasonable price and the next few waves don't even include a Koopa Kid so my guess is they're not gonna bother finishing them any time soon. Also it's just World of Super Mario more than Nintendo lately.

Here's a better pic to understand how big it is.
I've only ever bought nendoroids, amiibo, and figma from amiami so it never crossed my mind it wouldn't qualify for small packet.
I just don't understand why it would cost so much to ship a plushie, even overseas. I mean, it's just like $10 extra than they were selling on ebay. Plus I know it's 100% official since it's ami ami, and the shipping from ebay would have taken like 3 weeks.

>>7103807 There was also Dic's habit of wanting to have specific character models they could own the rights to. It's why Real Ghostbusters has had a bitch of a time getting new toys and why we will never see N-Team stuff or most any other Dic series.

That’s not a knock against Nintendo so much as it is a testament to how fucking popular those other franchises are among the main buyers of these things (a fairly small subset of Japanese turbonerds with very deep pockets). That, and the people buying /v/ stuff have proven time and again that they don’t really care how old the source material is, meaning that those figures take a backseat to time-sensitive stuff like Kemono Friends where there’s potential for insane sales if and only if they strike while the iron’s hot.
