>>7074225>where's that one anon with the picture showing the Lancia Stratos and VW Bug side by sideStill here. VW bugs were not all that small compared to the euro/Japanese sports cars that make up most of the Autobots. The Lancia Stratos, in particular, was a very tiny car that was built from the ground up to be a vicious racing machine, basically just an aerodynamic engine casing on wheels. Drivers that spent time in them often referred to them as "little bundles of automotive rage" or something to that effect. The "Turbo" version that Wheeljack is based on, in particular, was even more powerful to the point that it was vilified by drivers who believed there was no need for such threatening amounts of performance in such a tiny car. Coincidentally, the one that wore the Marlboro livery that Exhaust is based on actually suffered from engine fires on numerous occasions before it finally destroyed itself in an explosion.
Wasn't there a bio somewhere that noted that Wheeljack was one of the best "drivers" in the Autobot ranks? Kind of fits with the Lancia alt mode. I'd love to see a form of media where it's actually addressed, like Wheeljack isn't much of a hand-to-hand fighter, but once he's in car mode, nobody can lay a finger on him. That'd be so cool. Details like this are what I wish more writers would focus on.
>>7074230Scale for the MP line was basically just designed around "being as close to the scale in the cartoon while still being within reason". And also the trailer fit. They were very autistic about making sure the cars could fit into Prime's trailer. I guess nips are into that.
