Lucky for you, I can google and am a cool dude. The bad news is that those are all robots and I don't like them very much. I'd consider Nya's water bug bot because it's not that pricey and you get the armored skirt plus 3 other figures. Also black parts.

What are your guys' experience at lego conventions? I went to one a few months ago and it was kind of cool, but the atmosphere was strange. The adult builders didn't look like they even enjoyed building it and the kids in turn didn't seem happy, the whole thing was a downer unfortunately. There was only one display I liked, which was these kids who built this big world out using mainly the minecraft blocks but they also had silly things like a chicken battling a cow, you could tell they had fun

This theme had some potential but the first wave is pretty shit. The good stuff came with the second wave, the big blue and white vehicle was the best set of the theme.

Finished the Ideas Voltron and while it's a stunning looking model I seriously need to address what's going on "under the hood".
The "everyone is supposed to build the model so here are some methods to make the process easier!" mentality is getting ridiculous and often makes one question just what the fuck the designers were thinking.
I mean, this is supposed to be an advanced set for 16+ year olds so why is there such a clusterfuck of colors inside of it, including pink, purple and teal?
Do they honestly think that someone at that age is too stupid to slap a Lego System set together?
Hell, those pink 2x6 bricks aren't even necessary since not only are they next to impossible to mix up or forget but the same parts are already used in red, grey and the like in the set and would be just as visible in the instructions.
Then there are some odd things like color-coding the connection areas on the black lion (only three actually match the color of the lions, though) but on one side they use solid blue 1x2 bricks and on the other side they build that area with red and teal plates and again, there ARE red 1x2 bricks on the model so it's just another nonsensical decision and feels like someone at Lepin designed the insides.

I kinda hate the comiccon exclusives. I doubt anyone goes to the con just for exclusive lego. I don't really see the point in releasing exclusive minifigs when they would sell or make excellent free offers when you spend $X on capeshit. I'm not a huge Jessica Cruz fan, but we'll likely never see her in sets and we barely get any green latern stuff as is. At least it wasn't saint walker or something I'd pay scalper prices for.

There are two possibilities:

1. This is a secret effort by Lego to destroy creativity by giving you bricks in colors you don't build in

2. The build requires a filler piece and those bricks are currently in production and available in significant enough quantity at a cheap enough price-per-piece to manufacture, and since those pieces can't be seen in the final build, that's what the build includes

This thing is way bigger in person, about as tall as the Slave I is long.
A bit disappointed in the lack of articulation though. I get that they wanted it to be more stable but the legs don't move at all and the arms only swing up and down.

I'd suggest the Brick Bank and Detective's Office combo. But tat just may be the fact that I realy hecking love stuff like Payday games and a bunch of heist movies. Still having a detective and a policewoman to investigate the robbery/money laundering is preety rad (also the build for BB is preety good, with lots of neat tricks!)

Assembly Square is a preety good choice too then. Though Brick Bank, for a square-shaped building, is very well detailed and textured (also it was a realy fun build for me yesterday!). Also it being a corner Building makes it a kind of necessary buy even eventualy (I adore all the character it has! Especialy with launderette!). Tho since we are likely getting a new Corner Building next year, you might want to hold of for that (especialy if you dislike the square plan soo much!). Anyways, have fun building!

Anyone know a good way of removing sharpie ink from lego without fucking up the paint? I got some old lego from a friend and some of it has been coloured in with sharpie, mainly a couple helmets and a few rock monsters (pic related). Assuming it's black sharpie ink, rub the tip of a black Expo dry-erase marker on the area, then wipe it away with a dry tissue. If the sharpie ink has been on the piece for a while it might leave a permanent stain, but the Expo marker can do a good job removing most of the Sharpie mark.

Am I the only one who really likes the resurgence in 4 wide car MOCs? I really like how they don't look absurdly large in comparison to minifigures (unlike larger lego cars) and I find it really interesting what people end up having to do in order to shove a ton of detail into something of that size.

Has lego ever explained why summer wave in America is this late or why everything comes out at once? It seems like it would be harder to coordinate this much stuff releasing on the same date. I know I won't be buying all of the sets I want because I won't have the time to build them and feel bad about spending that much at once, where as there haven't been any new sets I've wanted since last winter it seems.

I'm still pretty salty about some people getting black friday deals on sets that broke street date and were supposed to come out after christmas last year.

Wow anon! I remember you thinking about this in the other thread. Turned out nice. If you could enclose those intake grills better, seal up the cockpit glass a bit better and smooth tile surface some of those studs that'd take it next level. Pay close attention to your color blocking and how you have those wedges layered too. Maybe some room for improvement thee. I do think the green is an interesting choice that's unique. Maybe I wouldn't have done it but that doesn't make it any less commendable, in fact the opposite.

Nice build fren. Beautiful diorama build, well shot and composed image. Colors and elments capture bastion well. I like that gaps in between the plates and tiles give the tree texture. Surely that's not a challenge? Each layer can use 5 bricks at the minimum, and it's easy to make a cuboid that only uses 15 bricks. Like, even a 6x6x2 cuboid of 10 blocks would still hold together.

Earlier this summer two Lego leakers were talking in a Eurobricks thread about some upcoming sets or figs or something, but they weren’t able to fully discuss the exact designs or say who their inside source was.

Just2Autistic came in and started whining about how they were sooo cool with their secret club and was getting pissy that these two men, who have no reason to share inside LEGO info for any other reason than through the kindness of their hearts, weren’t giving more info that could potentially land their source in trouble and stop the stream of leaks.

His videos are unprofessional too. Sounds like he doesn’t try to re-record anything or do much research on the source material of licensed sets.

In his review of the smallest Infinity War set, he says people who assume Cap’s weapons are his new shields are wrong, despite that being deliberately stated in the first trailer.

Girlfriend has been babysitting a kid for nearly half a decade and his birthday is coming up. What you should consider is building a few sample sets to prove the concept works as a toy, drawings and lore are good but not what they're looking for. You might be able to network your way into a pitch meeting by meeting higher ups at sponsored events or conventions but it's a bit of a longshot. Unless you wanna go to Billund.

To be fair, having the "idea" to make the iconic car and HQ from a beloved franchise isn't exactly something you should be credited for. I think the creator of the IP is much more worthy of credit there.

For the purposes of this conversation you should ask if lego took any of the build idea. It seems like it would be hard to at least not be influenced by it, and certainly some common building techniques and obvious choices would be replicated regardless. Really you could argue the same for MOCs. It is also pretty clear that this whole process could not exist in any form without lego being able to 'take' the 'ideas'. Otherwise everyone would be like "HAY DO A LEGOES THE SIMPSONS! GIEF MONIE".

So really what you're asking is if lego goes out of their way to acquire licenses after they see big support from the online community. To which I would answer "I hope so." Who gives a shit if someone designed an ecto1 and they decided not to make it at the time. We still got an ecto 1. If you're doing ideas to get rich/famous, or to audition for "lego designer" you're doing it wrong.

Not sure if you want to go specific nostalgia for the kid because of special connection. But you could also go for the more recent three in one creator dinosaur set. Probably still relatively cheap and there was a contest for doing dino rebuilds with just those pieces wich could be a neat extra printout or whatever.

While preference of parts is ofcourse subjective, not liking something for the lack of use you get out of the parts is probably one of the best reasons not to like a Lego set. I loved the Halloween wave because i'm a huge spooky fag, but I often have the same gripes with many sets covered in starwars and jurrassic park logos and friends style elves animal poops and stuff. I can see people disliking the Halloween wave for being so specificly themed in their printing though.
His obsession for cute/adorable stuff is cool, i understand. Lego in itself was almost exclusively 'cute' to some degree for the longest time in the golden town era. The whole angry kirby thing and starwars superheroes mutantholocaust licenses are a relatively recent thing.

Don't really watch his stuff since i just follow Jang. I'm not into top ten kind of clickbaity stuff.

Go for Detective's Office and Parisian Restaurant, they're possibly being retired at the end of the year and they look fantastic.

I expected this series to be full of updated characters from different older series.
