>>7091225I got the upgrade kits for Bruticus from Dreamwave and from Perfect Effect, and I like several aspects of Dreamwave just as much as PE, if not more.
The differences in the feet are negligible; both use the same gattling-gun-to-oversized-sneaker design. The heads both have minor variations in the detailing and sculpt around the eyes/faceplate—overall, PE’s Bruticus face looks terrifying because it has the lifeless stare of an automoton built only to destroy, while Dreamwave’s looks equally terrifying because he *enjoys* destroying.
The hands are really where Dreamwave excels—PE’s are perfectly fine and definitely superior to HasTak’s hand/foot compromise, but the finger articulation allows for superior abduction/adduction of the fingers (splaying of the hands) and hyperextension (slight backwards-bending of the joints), so that a high-five is different from carrying a tray on your finger tips, and both are different from a karate chop. The gun-mode of the hands also has more minute detail in the sculpt, making them look more like convincing WW2-era weaponry. PE seems to have a little more stability—if you are worried about breaking the hand, PE may be the way to go.
The PE bruticus does not come with replacement/supplemental chest/pelvis/belt armor or replacement thighs to stabilize or reposition Onslaught’s legs, so I cannot offer a comparison there; but I do feel that Dreamwave’s torso pieces do a good job here. The thigh replacement seems *almost* more trouble than it is worth, but the armor definitely makes the torso look and feel more complete, and the thigh replacements serve a dual purpos of stabilizing the legs and allowing the replacement pelvis guard to lock into place.
I have only seen Abomnibus’ Dreamwave upgrades in the photos you posted and a couple of close-ups of the face, but it looks like it offers most of the same benefits I’m seeing with Bruticus. Hope that helps.
