AFAIK, all their friends played the game.
Everyone one was a fan, because that's all they talked about and i couldn't understand the appeal, because the game was shit and was barely even a game.
It was very popular with the kids, hence it being McFarlane's most successful line ever. Bigger than Halo, back when Target, KMart, and WalMart had entire sections of their shelves just for his toys. Bigger than any of his Spawn lines back in the 90s which were sold at in Target, WalMarts, and KMarts.
That's at least a million of units being shipped and sold, and adult collectors maybe represent a couple million consumers total. There's no way Five Nights at Freddys is that popular with adults that it outsells everything NECA, Mezco, Figma, Bandai, and other adult collector toy companies make every single year for adults. There's tens of thousands of their toys (per figure/wave) sold every year, with MAYBE ONE figure (one figure!) hitting a hundred thousand units sold.
You know shit about what kids like and over estimate how many adult collectors there are, if you're even aware of how much junk McFarlane is selling to those kids.
