Not everyone has the same taste, and have different needs, look at mp36, amazing figure in every aspect, but to transform him is literal destruction of the quality you aimed for, but take out the transformation and he'd be utterly perfect, and some people hate kibble so much or don't WANT to transform a transformer (shocking, I know) so they'd opt for high end action figures or statues, like pic related which I'd so get but much like the lewin figure its literal wallet rape
In truth, if I could get transformers that were highly detailed and looked JUST LIKE the g1 show that were actually good (say like bandai's robot damashii ver. A.N.I.M.E line) I so would but for now I stick to mp's, I could get 3p alternatives for cheaper but they seem to lack any real soul to them, a feeling I'm getting from mp10 compared to his newer version coming and the 3p attempt to retool mp10 has me with mixed feelings
In short, no they're intelligent for filling a niche that loud mouths deny we need
