>>7118369>has a girl ever gotten between you and your /toy/s?Not technically, but my wife did, at one point, urge me to put a spending cap on buying toys. I honestly needed it, though, because I was spending 500 bucks a month on toys and eating Ramen for dinner (this is before we got married). She's a successful senior investigative agent at a bank, and before that she was an accountant for a few different companies, so I figure she knows what she's talking about money-wise. I've thankfully gotten my spending under control, and tend to limit myself to a $200 a month toy account that I can either use to buy toys, or save up for upcoming toys.
>do you hide your hobby from new females you meet, friends or even early parts of the relationship?I've had a few girls come over (pre-marriage) and they never had a problem with the collection. It was never something I outright bragged about.
>have you ever gotten negative reactions from girls about your toys? After a while of dating, my (now wife) did make a comment about how my shit was all over the place and there was no real cohesion. Looking back on it, it was your typical clusterfuck of HUNDREDS of Transformers stuffed to max capacity on cheap Walmart shelves...so she had a point. I've since invested in MUCH better display furniture, sold a shit ton of figures I didn't even like, and have focused my collection a lot more.
>have you ever sold your toys because of a girl like the guy from 40 year old virgin?Nope. I actually sold a ton of toys, but I sold a shit ton of cheap ass Transformers to save up for better, more expensive figures. For instance, I'd sell like 30 shitty retail figures in order to buy 2 or 3 high end Masterpiece or 3rd party figs. I did this based on my own decisions. Pleasing a girl was never really the focus.
