Opinions of this year NJCC? I was sad to see series 3 is soooooo far...

wave 5 is cool but I miss a female, hope female knights will appear on wave 6

the gladiator kit, I dislike the gold metal and the dark brown bandages, very disappointed with the colors they choose

I liked the idea of the yellow blanks but their yellow tone looks too bright

also no new fantasy accessory kits...

I'm assuming the small company that never made toys before didn't allocate enough oif the kickstarter funds to sustaining their product output beyond the kickstarter itself. It seems to be a thing that people in the toy collecting universe are mostly fine with, treating kickstarter like a temporary limited run store.

I really like the fantasy blanks, though I wish there's a female one that isn't just an orc. It sucks that you'd need to buy a whole separate blank just for a non-orc head if you want a lady with pants.

There isn't a whole lot of other fantasy accessories that aren't in either of the two sets. Same with the greek stuff. They only made two sets because that's pretty much it. Though I wouldn't mind if they released more colors for the fantasy accessory sets.

If I recall, this is Locker Toys' firt attempt at actually doing their own thing instead of just distributing BFS' stuff. They're working closely with BFS, but still their own entity. From the only evidence we've got, a BFS guy who would probably have some idea of the amount of stock they'd be given to sell here in the states, it looks like Locker just made what they needed to cover their backers and a bit extra. It looks like if you didn't go nuts through the kickstarter your SOL. Which sucks because I didn't even know it was a thing untl after the KS was already over. I mean, if it works for 4Horsemen, it can work for them too.

That was me, Marauders John(the owner) told me that himself, but bear in mind he just said it was a possibility. Not guaranteed, just something they'd thought about.

You have to realize this guy is SUPER-enthusiastic about his toy line so he could've just been really excited about the WW2 stuff that day and was just spitballing ideas.

I wouldn't sweat it too much either way, they did the K9/exosuit kickstarter and WW2 pretty close together, so it might just be like a few extra months if they even decide to do it. I don't think a second WW2 ks would even be that big, since they already have the protos and can probably reuse a bunch of molds.

I stupidly didn't think to ask about the female bald head, he threw it in literally at the last second as he was handing me my bag of stuff.

Playing with it though it seems like it's kind of perfect for the ninja hood they have already for the valkyries. That hood is kind of a tight fit on most of their heads and the hood slid right on this one.

What happened was I asked one of the BFS people(the very nice lady who was the basis for the Dragon Harvester sculpt that everyone hates) what the deal is with the explosion of interest in 1:18 in China, since as I pointed out, for years Chinese collectors have been all about 1:6 and Transformers and it's not like they grew up with Joes, now suddenly we have all these 1:18 companies popping up.

So she told me that they'd discussed it with their contacts in China and they were told that Hot Toys sales are declining because the prices are too high, so a lot of the toy companies in China are switching to 1:18 because they think it's the next big thing there for collectors.

So it's not necessarily a bad thing for BFS(she didn't seem to think so) but a good thing for 1:18 collectors for sure.

Well, when I started collecting Hot Toys like 10 years ago they were $60 each now they're all $210+, so I understand why they're sick of it. I stopped collecting them when they were getting to above $160. Plus they take up so much space.

It was a test shot so it was unpainted, but the final version will be painted. No hair at all, completely bald.

I should mention btw that if you guys REALLY want to know what Marauders is going to do you can message them on Facebook and they'll probably tell you. And if you politely tell them you'd prefer the Vietnam kickstarter before a second WW2 one they will probably take it into account.

I think I am one of the few who prefer more WW2 stuff but for a specific reason.

Their ww2 molds (especially the locked ones) work great in a futuristic military setting ala acid rain or warhammer 40k. You can use the base bodies then add on futuristic weapons/gas masks and it'll work out of the bat.

In fact, the german camo soldier reminds me of the acid rain marine.

sup guys. i love army building but i don't wanna spend the big bucks on a gigantic bunch of soldiers, so i've come to limit myself to buying enough to form squads of soldiers.

if i didn't restrain myself i'd probably have a full company of vipers and a supporting squad or two of troopers and heavies.

yes. Because of cost I limit to 5 or so of each specialty I like. I'd love to have a bunch of modern PoC Cobra troopers like >>7121200
but they are about 25 a piece so I only have two 'dollar general' ones I painted the details black and the other 10 troopers I have are 25th ann troopers which still are cheap specially in lots. I also have a Viper squad and an alley viper one. Working on a Iron grenadier squad, I'm using a shock trooper body and Iron Grendier head though so it is coming super slow because shock troopers are expensive too. Next will probably be dark/red ninjas I hope, my Storm Shadow is lonely. Love this >>7121209

Well those vehicles were originally released with the 3.75 inch ARAH line and modern figures are 1:18 so around 4 inches. The vehicles released with new molds during the POC, 30th, Retaliation lines were made for 1:18 figures. The combat cruiser, H.I.S.S. tank, and Eaglehawk are great vehicles.

Glad you like. Yeah Cobra troop builders can get crazy expensive. I started collecting at the time the 25th packs came out. So I was able to snag my figures at retail prices and discount stores.

I usually have teams of 4 or 5 and feel satisfied with that, especially if there is some sort of commander variant. Of course I'll always buy more if I really like the figure and if it's available. I probably have about 15 Shock Troopers with most of them still in packages.

Finally got started on my Reaident Evil OC from when I was thirteen.
Now I need to wait for the sugru to cure tomorrow so I can get started on green stuff'ing the grossness around the tentacles and a place on his arm for the big tentacle to attach. Also I need to figure out which blank matches this skin tone because I want him to have a different face.

Yeah, they went a bit heavy on the brass/gold. Nothing out of my wheelhouse to fix, but a little disappointing.

we already have golden gladiator-looking stuff on series 2, I was expecting some cream/bone color bandages with a rusty/old metal with a cool looking patina like copper...

Correct, nothing but paint to trick the eye.
I didnt glue the torso together, I used the apoxie putty to attached the tail to the hole where the lower torso screw goes in.

There's a pic of the pair on their FB (though we don't know if they will be available from the get go or what not, and there will be quite the turnaround time).

Here's the starting lineup of the Amazing Heroes KS. When asked about an All In option and length of the campaign, they said "It'll be 30 days. The "All In" is a few hundred and includes a min of 20 figures, plus an exclusive mystery figure to be revealed when we deliver the figures."

New here is that yellow henchman, and the removed "CLAW" logo from the green one, perhaps stickers to go with whatever faction?

I wouldn't be surprised if they do make her, Willow, and all the other prominent females from this era, like Masquerade. However, they've stated that it wouldn't cost out well to have the females alongside the guys here, so there would be a separate KS for them. I also assume if this thing crushes the funding they may very well just add the females. Or maybe they'll just stick to their plan.

A personal want of mine at the moment is to get the Project Superpowers team. Their recent issue was fun, and I really want a Samson in particular. My main want is for them to do more from Dreadstar though, Syzygy (needs to be taller), Oedi (pretty much ready to go with a new head), the High Lord Papal, Willow when they get to the girls. I guess Skeevo too, and anything else would just be icing.

Sadly no, females will be coming in their own KS, or perhaps even as far out stretch goals (I guess they didn't feel like dealing with more than one body mold at a time and didn't want to risk not funding one, assuming it was a far out stretch goal). I guess for fun we can guess what we'll get. I do wonder if they'll go for the straight civilian characters, or just the ones who are heroes of the story. For example Nexus's wife, as important as she is to the story, doesn't do a whole lot or have a particularly interesting look.

I'd imagine we'll get Willow (Dreadstar), Ruby Stitch (Curse Words/Wizord), Red Hook's gf, and I'm running out of names. From their own series I could see Masquerade. Some female henchmen would be cool.

So I guess it was ready to go sooner than expected. They're calling this a soft launch, and will be some noise about it to advertise on Monday. It'd be great if they could show us what exactly each figure comes with. Some figures seem like they might be missing some essential parts, and I'd like to be aware of that. If all the stretch goals can get unlocked, the All In will be a great deal, but as is, if it only reaches >=20 total figures then it wouldn't be worth it (unless you're really keen on that mystery figure). Good luck to them!

Hell, probably half of the Funko ReAction line as well as a lot of the Bif Bang Pow Twilight Zone figures. The arcade game came out when arcades were dying in the US, so the only place that got it in my area was the bowling alley.

Every other arcade were replacing their machiens with interactive crap games, prize machines and not buying regular machines anymore, if not just going out of business and not replacing the dead machines with anything new.

You can prolly still download the rom for an emulator. I did it some years ago. It is fun to shoot down cobra planes and watching them drift to the ground and taking a few cobra troopers with them.

They should of left off the roman and cowboy kits off the Kickstarter. The cowboy kit makes no sense. They should of focused on a complete roman kit(full armor and weapons) and offer it alongside the gladiator kit.

Or at least patterned the Roman kit off of an actual Roman cavalry auxiliary, which would have made sense for a Kickstarter campaign focused on horses.

Sooo who have one of those Chinese blanks? is the grey as dark as the original one or lighter?

I like the new head, it's very Greek looking, with a white patina and some darker splats she can be a reanimated Greek/roman statue, a perfect companion for the gargoyle

My Marauder order FINALLY came in.

I had to inquere about when they were going to send it and they replied saying my order was accidentally filled under “not yet paid”. So I would have never gotten it had I not asked.

They did provide some free items, 2 vests and a rifle.

It’s my first Maurader fig. Its a pretty solid fig. Only criticism is that the sculpted but doesn’t allow for any backward leg movement.

It's been posted, but doesn't hurt to remind everyone once in a while. I think the goal is too high, and with so many stretch goals seemingly unattainable idk what the chances we fund it is. If we at least get the base amount great (that's even far away right now), but I'd have loved to go All In, but it just isn't worth it with the current selection and number of figures.

I really thought for sure that whenever this launched it would do big numbers, I guess I overestimated how many people like the characters, or perhaps want them at this scale. Tbf, if they were 1/12, if no reason other than Marvel Legends, they'd probably be doing better. Nonetheless, I'm still hoping this does well.

He is a nice one, a pity we didn't the parts they showed off for the prototype which had different legs which I don't think ever got tooled up, the knee pads especially. Also the optional balaclava head would end up coming later with figures like Retaliation Airborne and 50th Saw Viper.

Marauders K9/Exosuit delivery delayed by a month:

"Our original goal was to ship the new MTF figure color versions, K9 dogs, Exo Suits & Contract Ops figures by the end of September and the Agency Ops Male figures & Agency Ops female Valkyries figures by the end of December. After several recent working conversations with the factory, we have confirmed that we won't have all the new MTF items ready to ship by the end of September. We are looking at a possible late October ship, with an outside chance of a November ship. We are making arrangements to be at the factory to oversee production. The bright side to this news is the Agency Ops male & female figures, which were planned to ship by themselves at the end of December, will now ship at the SAME earlier time as the other Kickstarter items."

They're likely doing a cartoon version of her as a future release, so they can re-use the mold. YES, I took to it with small cutters and a modeling scalpel to the front to make the teeth like bits and cut out the side so the orc ears are exposed. Then I just gave it a metallic spray undercoat and paint wash.

I got one pic related. Its looks had intrigued me since I saw it but the Sgt Savage line just didn't do it for me, specially after getting the bunker back in 1995 and just disliking the Savage figure it came with. But now after getting the awesome I.R.O.N. Panther tank, the stormtrooper bug bit me again and bought it. God, what an awful figure. The details and sculpt itself are nice with the wehrmach motif but the "hero" proportions (big chest, big feet) and awful hand posing kills any hype. It can't hold its weapons for shit and doesn't have any body storage for the extra guns and the two potato smasher grenades it has. I tossed it after scavenging its nice soft good coat (which has velcro to keep it close) and the weapons to probably never fiddle with it again.

Good looking. Best 1/18 preds (there was a snap in set microman or something but it was from AvP preds not real ones). Normal articulation. Sticky joints sometimes. Waiting patiently on the Jungle Pred if there ever is released.

Really really love mine.
Just be careful handling it, because all of Hiya's figures are pretty delicate. Haven't broken anything yet, but I've been careful despite forcing a few joints.

I would not recommend forcing joints, but I've broken enough shit to know where to hold them when moving them.
Hot water + freezer is best method of fixing any stuck joints.
