>>7124531>Are MP's obsolete at this point?What?
>All new releases are like $300 and all have some kind of issue and needlessly complex transformations that Takara poops out. The reason for the cost are because of size (mp dinobot/ bw megatron), complexity (mp sunstreaker/megatron 2.0) and paint, why so complex, BECAUSE they're transformers FOR adults, a case of "what if someone grew up from g1 bricks and wanted something more meaty", they could easily just make chogokin like figures and ditch the transformations and still have amazing collectables but people do consider transformers as ONLY transformers when transformation is included and with a focus on getting the forms as accurate as to...erm whatever source material they chose it means a more necessary transformation may help achieve both forms (lets face it, you can get the alt mode and robot forms right but the transformation can NEVER be perfectly replicated, least there is line art to somewhat base their forms), the issues are due to the factories shitting out mass production figures and considering their move from china (as much as we bashed them they had more experience, see most 3p) to Vietnam they're getting worse, if they move to India we're literally fucked
>The mainline has an increasing focus on making figures that are comparable to MP's and 3P is making cheaper alternatives.Burger talk, wanna know why?
Look at the star wars black series and marvel legends
>gummy sculpts>limited articulation>designed to fit within a budget not aimed at a consumer directly but with retailers in department stores in mind>rough paint work that shows mass production paint jobs at their finestThe sad fact is while those 2 are adult collectors line they're WESTERN ones which may as well be happymeal toys, same goes for mainline generations transformers which follow similar principals, they're getting better (photo real, that holo print they use on the prime masters) but they're still literal kids toys in disguise
