Mega Construx is re-releasing all five of their initial Masters of the Universe figures in one set for anyone who missed out, and doing vehicles now for the line. In addition, there's new single carded mini-figures!

Mattel is also putting out a line of He-Man and She-ra dolls, with interchangeable heads, lots of accessories and weapons. The He-Man comes with a second head based on his vintage action figure.

As is the line is really shaping up. We're getting most of the main cast now. We just need a Prince Adam and Orko, and then you can move on to the Masters and Battle Armor He-man.

He-Man has some wackier vehicles, many of which don't need to be made, but there are some pretty neat ones like the Land Shark, and Spydor, or the Talon Fighter.

The big hope is either a Castle Grayskull play-set or Snake Mountain. They've teased the possibility of Grayskull with this one that they built before.

Mega Construx is the best thing they've done with the line in awhile. We're really close to completing the main cast, and only need a few more to have the essential Evil Warriors for Skeletor. And they could easily do different versions of He-Man and Skeltor if they wanted. All we need to complete the main cast is Prince Adam, Orko, and the Sorceress. And Skeletor just needs like Tri-Klops, Trap-Jaw, and Mer-Man. So only really like 6 more figures are necessary. But there's also a fuck ton of Evil Warriors and Masters they could do.

Actually looking at the figures, there is key differences in the paint and accessories in the figures. He-Man looks like he has metallic accessories, and Skeletor has paint detail on his chest armor and boots, with metallic weapons.

New image of the inside of Snake Mountain. It looks nice, though I think the outside is much bigger than the inside, comparatively to Castle Grayskull, which feels bigger inside. It's still very neat.

For the Masters:
Man-At-Arms, Prince Adam(technically not needed), and Orko, and possibly the Sorceress. So about 4 figures? After that everyone else is unnecessary to the main cast.

For the Evil Warriors: Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, Mer-Man, and Trap-Jaw.

This is all just based on characters who show up the most in the cartoons.

I was born in 86. I never liked the old cartoon so I never got into the toys. Recently I read the old mini comics and looked at the old toys with a new point of view and fell in love with that corner of it. Intentional or not it wasn't my cup of tea. The animation and characters looked always looked weird to me, I always hated MAA's mustache and weird older guy hanging with the boys vibe, and the transformation. At least in 200X they made MAA cooler.

The cartoon was limited animation working on a budget, you can't enjoy it unless you give it a chance to be honest. And the stories were occasionally pretty good. Dini wrote 11 episodes, J. Michael Straczynski did 9 episodes. Barney Cohen, the writer of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter did the episode Evilseed, and Tom Ruegger a writer from shows like Freakazoid and Pinky and the Brain did an episode. The show was full of good writers.

The 2000 show is very enjoyable, but it's like a pleb version. They had Larry DiTillio one of the original writers from the 80's cartoon return to write episodes. I've re-watched both series recently, and the original I tend to find is more enjoyable, it's like comparing cape-shit movies to their comics and the changes the movies make so normies will like it.

agreed, it would be pretty easy for them to cover most of the Masters & Evil Warriors/Snake Men/Evil Horde members since they'd be able to reuse a lot of parts(heck for a lot of the female characters they'd probably be able to get away with using the same body on most of them and only have to make new heads and accessories)

The only worry I have on them branching out, is if they don't finish out major members of a group, such as if they made Hordak, but did no members of The Horde. I'm hoping the line expands out to doing more figure sets like the 5 packs, and we end up getting a variety of characters in each set. MOTUC has a huge variety that the vintage doesn't exactly offer if you want world building toys, but are more rape in the after market prices. Vintage He-Man is cheaper and more plentiful on the market, but hard to find minty examples unless you by re-issues. There's lots of figures for vintage, but Classics did characters who would have never gotten figures back in the 80's. The Filmation figures are also a nice way to get into the vintage style ones. And Funko is doing Thundercats figures that will be compatible with He-Man.

Oh sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I wanted to make a comic/cartoon. The world is inhabited by heroes and villains in a magical kindgom like old 80s stories. Strictly aesthetically speaking which Motu line would be more pleasing to see as the base for the characters? Are you JUST sticking with one line? I started doing the same kinda thing, but I went with populating the world with characters from various different fictional toylines. Coincidentally enough, MotU wasn't one of them.
Of course, things have changed and I'm in the process of doing the same basic plot structure but with toy photography so I'll be using real figures instead of things like Juvenile Augmented Warrior Sharks and Ani-Changers

Yeah one toyline was the idea. The synopsis was that they lived on their own planet and had their own Saturday morning shennanigans and hairbrained plots like your typical boys cartoon but I wanted to take a satirical approach by having them all be toys. So their lairs are playsets, their vehicles are hollow plastic, etc. Of course with the overt satire the characters still behave like they would if they were real, like how things worked in The Lego Movie. So it's kinda like making my own toyline I suppose, but ironically with the intent of story first instead of merchandise.
