1: Because it is familiar.
2: Because it is a good design.
3: Because it is easily recognizable.
The default rendition of Transformer's are vaguely boxy, brightly colored robots. Thats how it's going to remain, probably forever. Designs might get altered a bit every now and then, but generally, they stick to the familiar design elements. You should either get used to it, or just give up collecting them.
