Mattel doesn't want to disappoint and the majority of there sculpts have been very promising and even exeptional at points, I personally have high hopes for it. If you think I should lower my standards for this line let me know so I'll avoid crushing disappointment in the future. I really hope we get a really good Indominus figure either way.

I didn't know this was a thing! The only Wheatley I've ever seen in the wild just said 'Mercenary' and I assumed they all did, so I grabbed it and thought nothing of it.

It did remind me that a while ago I thought there was some weird deal where they were releasing one of the generic Mercenaries and people briefly thought he was a Wheatley repaint or something, but I don't think this was the case here.

I'm usually the kind of person who hates action features, and especially hates when they come at the obvious cost of articulation, but I'll admit I've been having fun with the Carnotaurus and Suchomimus.

I've just been keeping one or the other near my desk and making them snap all day, or pick stuff up in their mouths. It's kind of fun to compare them too, Carnotaurus seems to actually be able to lift up heavier objects without dropping them, and has an easier time getting them into it's mouth because of it's straightforward jaw line, meanwhile the Sucho is better at holding certain other kinds of things if they're shaped right to get caught in it's weird crocodile ridged mouth shape.

Speaking of, I'm hoping we get some more Spinosaurids in general. I'm sure they could at least squeeze out an Irritator or Ichthyovenator or something that manages to look as distinct from the other three as much as the other three are distinct from each other.

There's nothing special about this line, it's cool, but MIB is just going to develop dust on your self, if you like owning a toy store cool, as for selling for double-triple price, sell it now because once they're available in America they're going to be everywhere it's not going to be a rare figure.

My local target today had 3 Super Colossal T-Rex, 2 Mosasaurus, 4 Legacy T-Rex, and at least 2 of everything else that's in release, probably like up to 4 of each.

This is stuff people would push kids over for at first, now it's everywhere.

Toy rarity is over.

I believe that discounts are the store putting items on sale for a limited time to help move a few more units. They'll still have the item in stock, and if not, you might even be able to get a rain check and receive it for the sale price once it's restocked even after the sale has ended.

Clearance is "We don't want to carry this thing anymore, and need space for new stuff." It can be sold for a few pennies less, to over 90% off retail. But what's there is there, and there won't be any more.

The current Target toy planogram has a end date for 9/30.

I found the Roarivores Sinoceratops today at Walmart, hadn't seen him around before. To my surprise they also had several Metriacanthosaurus, so it appears he's being repacked with this wave. No Allosaurus though.

My assumption is that the Spino is probably some weird edge case where it should have been smooth sailing, but randomly got tangled up at some arbitrary point so deep in the labrynithe rube goldberg machine of red tape in toy releases that even if someone gets ahold of customer service, you're not guaranteed to talk to someone who actually knows what the real deal is or can reasonably find out.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the tails back off the theropod Roarivores without breaking them?

I've been thinking about sticking fishing weights in the tails to try and counterbalance how frontheavy some of them are, and only just now realized through the tail stub would have been a really easy way to get them in there without needing to worry about screwing up the visible skin with surgery.

I'm kicking myself because I just thought of this about a minute after putting the tail in the Ceratosaurus I just got. At least this little jerk stays on his feet a hell of a lot easier than the Allosaurus so far.

Also I only just noticed, the Ceratosaurus' toenails are unpainted, which seems kind of weird. The rest of the Roarivores have painted toe claws as far as I can tell. Kind of a shame, since otherwise I actually love the paint on this thing.

It depends on what you want specifically out of your T-Rex. If you're a huge stickler for scale, the TNT is slightly more correct, but I feel like the difference isn't enough for me to care personally. If you like the kind of action features/sound it has, then that'd be a reason to get it. Do you just want a bigger Rex in general? Then get TNT. If you value articulation/posing more, then the Legacy beats out the TNT in that.

Personally, I bought the Legacy to tide me over until I could afford the TNT, but the Legacy is so good on it's own and still looks 'good enough' scaled next to other figures that I just decided to pass on the TNT entirely.

Thank you for your elaborate answer, appreciate it a lot! I paid quite a lot for the Legacy since it isn't available where I live, seeing that articulation is my prime focus here I think I could pass on the TNT quite comfortably. Size isn't a huge thing for me, it's pretty minor between these two.

Which leads me to your second answer, for which I thank you as well. It puts things in perspective for me as a European, because I would note US price tags and felt the difference with EU pricing was so off sometimes. But knowing tax isn't included yet it makes a lot more sense.

Epoxy, it’s a kind of 2 part clay. You get equal (or whatever fraction the box asks) amounts from each clay, and when you mix them together, it has a chemical reaction that makes it airdry in a couple of hours. It’s as hard as plastic, but if you drop it hard it might break off of the plastic and seperate into its own piece. Just be careful. Also don’t eat it.

there are a variety of epoxy putties. I recommend green stuff myself. Just don't buy the Gamesworkshop brand, way overpriced.

It is good stuff for small jobs like that, stays malleable for a few hours and is sticky for the first hour which helps you attach it to the figure. I also recommend looking into DIY scultping tool solutions to help shape it and add litle details to it.

I saw a Youtube video make a good point about the small dinosaurs that come with Zia, black Mercenary: there aren't baby dino's actually, because their horns and sofort are fully grown, contrary to the original Kenner baby dino's which actually had baby features. So they're basiclaly scaled down grown dino's. Kind of a pity.
