They'd probably have to do the arms differently for this, but maybe they could've had the blue helmet fold into the chest. The red helmet would then have the transformed crest and the bit of the blue helmet showing and just clasp over the head (like how SoC GaoGaiGar did it). It would also be attached to the G-Shadow instead of coming off.
This would all probably be massively fiddly and wouldn't look as good, but they could always include the helmets like they are now as an option.
