>>7149375I've always liked the various Optimus Prime toys. Even the big blocky Leader from the 2007 movie was just a lot of fun. My favorite is still the Wei Jiang Commander mold, with Battle Damage. For around $100 it looks like a display piece but still feels like a proper toy to monkey with. The black and the standard red versions are ace too.
I'm really looking forward to all the VW Beetles we're about to get. That's still the only proper alt mode for Bumblebee, imo. I'm happy to see it back. I've already pre-ordered the Power Charge Bumblebee and the Legendary Optimus Prime from
hlj.com.
I was going to get the Studio Series Bumblebee to go with the Legendary Optimus, but I think I'll just wait and get the inevitable Wei Jiang versions, since they can charge more than $20, they can paint them better and add die cast.
I'm not a completist, so I don't care about scale too much, but I do occasionally like to get a set of figures in the same scale. Ultimately I just get whatever looks good.
Most of my modern collection centers on Optimus, but I'm adding a few Bumblebees. Mech Planet Hot Soldier has two great molds. I especially like the little train engine. I like the MicroMaster sized NewAge Bee as well. Unless someone does Wasp, I doubt I'd double dip on those molds tho.
