I know it wouldn't be worth the money for them, but that doesn't make me want fully sculpted obscure horror characters

Or maybe now it could have been worth it, since they could have completely reused the body from Deadly Night Silent Night 1? Ugh. The retro line is getting all these cool obscure characters that I just want to fit in with my already existing collection of traditionally done NECA characters

Not really interested in the idea of "Dream Sequence Jason" since it's just part IV Jason. BUT, it's pretty sweet he comes with the mask that was on the poster. Might get him to display with that, and I'll think of him more as "Movie Poster Jason"

That split hand shoulda come with Ultimate Part IV, that's from the part IV climax, and not part V but whatever. Is that bloody axe and mask from part IV too? Those weren't in the dream sequence in part V

It's a newly sculpted piece, when Part 4 originally came out they didn't have it, so this way they're able to get it out to those that want it. That's my guess anyway.

I'm sure that's the reason, just weird they didn't sculpt it when they were doing Part IV, and thought they should just throw it in part V. Any reused figures that are turned into Ultimate releases usually got at least one new sculpted accessory, so it's odd they didn't do it back when they were turning their Part IV Jason into an ultimate.

I'm not complaining, it's cool to get more, just thought it was odd is all.

Finally got my Predator 2018 figure. I'm pretty happy with it overall, honestly. My only gripes are swapping out the arms and head can be difficult due to their tightness. But a little heat makes that an easy thing to get over.

Until I see the movie, I'll probably leave his gear on. He looks cooler of course. The ball abdomen and ball torso joint allow for some nice leans, but it's a little frustrating posing him and getting those out of line with one another, but that's a nitpick on my part. The hands can swap with the arms, but again, requires some heat to get 'em free.

Yes, you just need a little heat to pop the hands out. I got one fist out without it, but it'd probably be an easier time heated up.

I've always had a lamp. The lighting in the apartment is crap, so it's what I use. I just had the lamp right up against the Pred cause it was late at night.

My local FYI was going out of business and had merc 70% off.
Got this guy for $24 and some change. While I’m really enjoying him at that price this ED here is way overpriced at $70+ his legs can hardly do anything and the parts don’t detache in any way to recreate scenes in the film. Was the licensing that costly?

It was a purposeful release. I guess cause in some scenes Linda's eyes are more visible than in others, they released it that way. If I remember right, it was both versions in the same case. When I worked at TRU I had this version held for me, but one of the fat fuck seasonal temps stole it from me.

I just never got around to finding it again as I'd kind of given up, but there's been a nice crop of the figure showing up for affordable prices thanks to the Ultimate release.

Wew lad, my first Neca purchase in a long time.
Plasma caster feels very fragile.
Elbows and knees are totally stuck so I'll have to get some hot water on them.
Haven't seen the film yet but the design is growing on me.

Are the hands swappable between the gauntlets and the bare arms?

Hot water fixed everything.
Head was a bastard to swap, the ball peg ended up coming out with it, had to use pliers to pull it out and seat it back in the neck socket.

Probably one of the best predators I've had from Neca in terms of QC.
No notable paint slops, permanently frozen joints or broken parts right out of the box, a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

I've always ment to get into em but never have for various reasons but between the Bad Blood/Enforcer 2pack, Ultimate Ahab, Broken Tusk, and Fugitive nows the time to get into it especially if you're a fan of the comics.

Also Machiko, Big Un, and Hornhead as well.

Kinda iffy on Machiko though atleast until I see some reviews of the finished product.

I got them swapped after a quick dunk.

What do you think of the new hand pegs? Seems like a step backwards from the AvP ball pegs since you can't move them up/down anymore, but I like that they're easier to swap out. I always feel like I'm going to break Scarface's wrists.

I'm okay with them, but not sure which I prefer. I always like ball pegs cause there's a higher range of directional gesturing, but these get deeper bends. These are probably better in the end when it comes to things like weapons and staffs (heavy ones) for sturdier posing though.

That's a damn shame.
He is pretty bare bones for an ultimate release now that I think about it. The forearms are a nice new accessory we've never gotten before but I'm not sure how often I'll actually use them on display.

As you can see he is super skinny, but thanks to that he can get his arms closer to his waist in a neutral stance.

This is as low as I could get Scar's arms to rest by his sides.

I'm considering preordering a bunch of NECA stuff from BBTS, but I'm a bit iffy, last time I bought something from NECA online I received a predator without a row of dreadlocks. I love the company but prefer to buy in person, looks like everywhere near me doesn't get any new shit in so I'm at sort of a last resort here. I've bought just about everything online for the last several years. TRU was sucking before it closed down and wasn't stocking things in a timely fashion, so BBTS and NECA store got my money. I've really not had any problems. Hell, the Ash 2 pack, Fugitive, Pennywise, Pennywise Curry, all came from NECA store in the last couple months.

I don't think one invalidades the other actually, i mean, in Prometheus we see a Xeno like creature sculpted on the walls of the engineer's ship much before the start of the goo fuckery.
If you ask me the goo came from actual Xenos + Engineer tech. David didn't create them, all his quest for the perfect being achieved was to reverse engineer the goo and get close to the source material.
Just my head canon i guess, but as far as i can recall it checks, nothing to say otherwise.
Also, nothing to invalidade Concrete Jungle either, assuming you care for the game, i sure do, lol.

The 2017 Pennywise is the only figure I HOPED for derpy eyes on, since he actually does in the movie. The one I got was all spot on, which was nice, but a wonky eye on a head or two would have been fine.

The ultimate warriors from Aliens are coming out later this year, so one of those will be the best versions of that suit.

And it's likely we'll get the Big Chap in ultimate form soonish too. The baby blue Kenner xeno is literally an ultimate Big Chap with the new articulation...just blue. So wait it out on that one.

There is a really nice "prototype" Big Chap in the Burke 2 pack. Also comes with a nice Hadley's Hope Sign. I really wish I had gotten the Alien Isolation Xeno when it was still reasonable. There's always Aliexpress though.

Ash is all recycled parts except for the new head so he feels pretty outdated, but is currently NECAs most articulated ED2 Ash... so there's that.
The Evil Ed figure is great. Definitely the reason to get the 2 pack.

But the Chucky figure is one of the best figures theyve done in awhile. I got 3 cus theres a buncha different ways to display him. I have a feeling he's not going to be hard to find for awhile though, seeing as how Target and Gamestops started selling him. I don't think either carry the ED2 2 pack

The Fugitive design is starting to grow on me. I like that he isn't as loaded down with gear as a lot of the others, since that can make posing a figure a little fiddly. Seems like a decent desk toy Predator fig.

It wasn't the best but I didn't really dislike its design. That said, seeing it in action convinced me that you can still make practical suits work for Predators and improve on it. The way it moved was buttery smooth, and they actually managed to nail the strong/agile combination of a Predator without hiding all of the stunt work through the cloaking. Which is why it's so puzzling that they'd shit all over that hard work with the CGI clusterfuck that was the Upgrade/Assassin Predator.

Even when the Fugitive got punked, it was so comically out of left field that it didn't really diminish my enjoyment of the Fugitive Predator. Since the Upgrade was introduced so late into the movie, it makes its victory over the Fugitive feel random and unearned. Compare that to the Berserker beating the Classic Pred in Predators, which actually felt earned since the former was built up throughout the movie as the "bad guy".

The first half of the film seemed like it could easily have led to a better action/satire movie even if it had little in the way seriousness and tension. It's the latter half where it completely shits the bed with B-grade loreshit and the ugly CGI mess that's the Upgrade Predator. Even the action sequences between the Fugitive and the Upgrade was like night and day.

Biggest misuse of an actor, character, and plot point was Jake Busey playing the son of the character that Gary Busey plated in Predator 2 for less than 5 mins of screen time.

Also Olivia Munn, super scientist and super commando that could run down a super predator like the flash in a cripple race.

The Alien and Predator stuff has been delayed for fucking ever for supposedly the same reasons, but the Predator stuff has finally been releasing now. There's no reason to think the Alien stuff won't also get back to regular releasing soon.

It's a duplicate right upper thigh piece. It hardly impedes the possibility, but the mismatching sculpt really bugs me. I could pop it off and move it, but I doubt the leg would sit proper then, since it would no longer properly align with the ball peg. I think I'll just pick up another one if I see it in store since this is such a solid pickup. Also because I hamhanded it a bit when trying to change the heads and loosened his right arm and waist a bit more than I would have liked to.

True, I personally don't mind it, for me it's worked out.
Since I bought the improved part 6 Jason for my horror shelf, I can use my old wobbly head part 6 Jason to display with my friday the 13th accessory pack underwater scene. Same with my part 3. The better ones on my horror shelf, 1st release goes on my f13 accessory pack dock display.

Plus a lot of the ultimates have multiple ways to display it. I have a normal part 1 freddy and a skinless face one on display. Wish it came with the long arms though, that'd be better.

Neca's QC isn't always great, but as long as it's something recent that they've still got parts for on-hand they tend to be pretty good about replacing the part for you.

I picked up my Ultimate Gipsy for the first time in like 6 months and the left arm just fell apart at the elbow. Kinda bummed, but I damn sure didn't like the figure enough to pay the aftermarket prices for a replacement.

They didn't made the main Predator (i believe he was called Dark...?) but people asked Randy about it and he said that it's possible, pretty much in the same fashion he did when asked about Concrete Jungle's Scarface years ago. I'd say it will happen eventually, Neca is always finding a new Predator to make out of their existing sculpts, and this one fits AvP body perfectly.

I only have Ryu, Viper, and Chun-Li. They're FINE, but nothing special. You can get a pretty good idea of what they're like just by looking at them. When they came out I was way more impressed but there's much better options these days. I think the paint looks way too thick too.
