Because its basically the definitive Skeletor figure. You can just buy a recast of the headsculpt, and a cheap version of the regular Skeletor from the Mo-Larr set, though. Basically the same thing, but with a more detailed armor.

One of my favorite figures of all time. Can’t say I didn’t pay out the ass for it though. Perhaps the only downside is that it doesn’t come with an angry headsculpt

All I hope for MOTU is that one day we get a line that emphasizes articulation AND sculpt so that we can get some really dynamic figures for the characters.

I love the designs, but mattel and super 7 live in the 90s/very early 2000s engineering wise.

I loved the 2002 series designs and would love modernized takes on them.

I think the entire line exists now just to squeeze money from nostalgia and keeping that hot scalper market going to help drive the perception of value, and has no interest in doing anything like this.

Like, super 7 could rerelease everything and sell out, but they aren't.

It's a shame that these figures didn't do so well. Though I guess by the time these were coming out there were already 2 failed attempts to do a line modern figures of the classic designs as well as a failed reboot line.

I held off so long on getting into Classics because I just wanted updated 200x figures too. The proportions on the villians especially were much more interesting. I liked the dilapidated Two-Bad and the hulking Beastman.

Though I did eventually get into MOTUC when they started popping up at Big Lots. I even ended up going in on a membership for the year that Kobra Khan came out.

Did some ebay purchases too, and things ended up evening out as far as the good deals I got at Big Lots and the gouging I paid on ebay.
