You don't know how much I fucking want the DCUC BAF Darkseid in my collection..
But since I live in Germany, there's almost no way for me to get this fucker without paying over a hundred dollars or something.

What are some figures you guys a 99% sure you'll never get?

Some of you never would've survived collecting back in the 1990s. The early G1 deluxes used to go for $30 to $100. Even shit like Ratchet. Combiners were up in the $90s, which would be like $200 in 2018 money. But now the autistic screeching is off the charts anywhere north of half the unadjusted prices.

I thought about it, but I want my Darkside figure to be big in comparison to the others, it wouldn't look as cool if he's just as tall as any other figure.

I've heard Sentinel's stuff always goes down in price, sometimes even more than 50% off but I guess I missed out on the sales for these
Now I have to live the rest of my life without the best ZOE figures out there

Fin Fang Foom. I took a break from collecting when he came out. I saw the wave in stores maybe twice. It took 8 figures to buy him and I was only interested in 1 or 2. Saw him at a used toy store a few years back for $200 buy hesitated. He was gone the next day. I've been able to find older BAFs (got Pitt for $60 CDN) but I've given up on FFF. There were rumors of a rerelease but that is pretty much over.

If you're interested, Kotobukiya is re-releasing the Jehuty and Anubis plamos in January. Definitely nowhere near RIOBOT quality but at the sametime you could paint it to be better.

The Hot toys version of the Hulkbuster is one of mine. at the $850 retail it was, relatively, reasonable. Now it's at $2000 and I'm never going to own it, not that I had the space for it anyway. I do own the Sentinel and honestly I prefer the design, but I like the Hulkbuster in general.

I also kinda wanted the Hot Toys Delorean, but I already own the HT 89 Batmobiel and its so fuckign big and cumbersome that I really don't need another 1/6 vehicle in my life.Its almost a hassle having that much toy around. Still love it, though. My only exception would be a 1/6 V8 interceptor from Mad Max 2.

Why not just get the DCS version? The cnc is better, but not $100 better. Ther'es a blue version, too, this pic is just to show size differences. I think the BAF is too big, really. They made it look more Jack Kirby, but made him too big.

Owning the models and Riobots, I can safely say that the Riobots are the way to go if you can get them, but the models a regreat, unique experiences.

The other option is the Revoltech line. There are a few available on Mandarake at a decent price.

The Toy Fair and Puerto Rico Comic Con Dark Knight Returns Batman from Mezco. Those things are ridiculous and I missed out on the PRCC one at a decent price a few years ago.

At least I have the other 4 versions of the figure.

It's far from being overdesigned, unless you hate every Darkseid rendition that isn't Kirby's work.
This is probably the plainest designs since after Morrison did his nu-retro take on him.

IT's probably the most articulated Darkseid too, so it's best choice out of all of them so far.

Idk, I enjoy having a few bigger figures that really stand out. Got the Arkham City Clayface recently (which is 34 cm tall) and he's standing in the corner of my display, towering over the rest.

I won't pretend this version is the best, but I got the second DC Collectibles Darkseid for $50 earlier this year. He really needs bicep swivels, and maybe alternate faces, but he makes a pretty good modern Darkseid, especially if you just want a giant angry space god of evil.

I also have the CnC Darkseid. He's the best classic Darkseid, but it really hurts that he can't even do the arms behind the back post.

The Mezco one looks superb, though, and will probably be the ultimate Darkseid figure to get

The smaller version is actually more in scale. He might not be a giant but he's still taller than your average figure, be it DC, ML or Figuarts.

It's not odd at all, given how almost every single toy looks better in person than it does than an internet photo.
BTW, i took that photo last year.

Where do you buy your figures? I tend to buy online, at least with Mezco figures, because their prototypes are basically what you get. So it's a safe purchase to preorder.

BAF for sure. It's almost certainly a shittier toy, but it has a decent sculpt and actually looks like Darkseid. The Injustice 2 design is fucking hideous, from colors to shapes to the way they did his face. Darkseid's face should be grim, stoic, and kind of spooky. This one looks like a vaguely confused old man wearing a broken motorcycle helmet.

I'm not even that into Darkseid. Yet, I really want this simply for the fact that they did his headsculpt so right, the glowing eyes look amazing, and it comes with an omega beam effect head. The ONLY thing stopping me is the fact that it's polystone, and I just know someday a big enough earthquake is gonna hit LA that he's gonna fall to the floor and shatter into a million pieces.

The only Injustice figure I'd buy is the Lobo, because it looks almost like the comic version.

I'm not a fan of Jim Lee's design, because why would Darkseid be so heavily armored? but on the other hand, i love how massive he is and i do like the design (just not for Darkseid).

It's very conflicting.
The fact he's a giant, like the New Gods were said to be protrayed if they went to Earth without Boomtubes (or earth heroes to new genesis or apokolys being tiny without boomtubes), really really makes me like it still.

Also liked the first DCC Darkseid.

Lol, i own DC Superheroes Darksie, he arived to me 2-3 days ago, it's realy good toy, one size with Direct Big Barda from "New Gods" series. Also want to by Darkseid from this Direct line, he is the same scale if i understood rigth, also he have Killing Glove hand like BaF from Mattel line.

About DCS Darksie, i own dark version, it have pretty good sculpt, also cracks on skin painted darker or just gives shadow, anyway it's cool. My Darksie have some problems with skirt, near the "connecting stitches", but they are not very big and maybe it's just my problem. He have also diorama (boomtube) and fatherbox.
