>>7156311I've said this time and time again but I'm usually shouted down, transformers NEEDS a new gimmick, and not a line wide imagination gimmick, but a line reinvention
As much as we shit on Warden he's done a reasonable servicing of the old g1 gimmicks in justifiable ways, making the pretender suits into mixed weapons/power ups was a great idea considering the originals were basically russian dolls, and combiner wars was actually good (except for non-combiner characters as they were just cheap retools and redeco's), the issue now is what's new they can do?
Siege, looks like they're taking in some ideas from standard japanese lines more with effect part options and ways to implement those onto figures, now we just need to have effect parts as simple dlc options, of course we're still parading around g1.
But how the fuck could we move on from g1, the g1 movie and beast wars were the best and only ways to get a new core cast in without dependence on g1 staples, best we can hope for is rid2015 style characters being randomly thrown in with a huge reliance on the g1 staples.
I'm shit at ideas, and all I can think of what needs to be done, best solution in my eyes is do a reboot of g1, you bring in optimus vs megatron, BUT THEN you start a transition while homaging those guys and you keep moving forward, bit like gundam 0087 and its current UC show unicorn (and soon narrative), they acknowledge the past but keep moving forward, sure they do redress certain concepts but its not literally the same core cast and machines.
I'd be fine with a defective clone of galvatron 5millions years after the death of g1 megatron that turns into an techno organic elephant fighting a descendant of optimus that turns into a tank, why because I'm shit at ideas but I honestly want a shake up so hard.
Whatever they do they need to keep elements of the past and just make it one big continuity, rather than constant soft reboots
