Mandarake says no debit cards but I just ordered from them with a debit card and everything went through fine and they've shipped it just now. Am I fucked? Are they going to want it back?

What do they want back?

I actually use a debit card through my paypal account and I never had a problem with Mandarake.

The card gets verified then if it went through as if nothing wrong happened then it's fine. I think it only gets troubles when you are making a big purchase then they will give you other payments options such as PayPal or something.

They did the sale and if there isn't something specific in the TOS they can't request the item back. The right of withdrawal is the other way round.

The Japs are a little fucked in the head when it comes to "debit" cards.

Like when I went to Akiba last year, I asked the teller if I could use my DEBIT card to pay for my purchase, and he said no.

Then

I go up to another floor of the complex, see something I HAVE to have, right?
And I just go up and pay with my debit card without 'asking' first?

And presto, payment goes through, baddabing baddaboom.

I think their "debit" cards don't work the way our western ones do, so they think you're referring to Jap debit cards?

Which is the way it was in the US for decades too. It was sometime in the 2000s that my ATM card turned into basically another credit card.

I used to have it in my favourites but it shows 404 now.
If I recall correctly, the stores that DON'T undervalue are Grandchaos, Sahra and Sapporo.

I've had no issues with Shibuya, Complex, Nagoya, Nakano, and the rest. Been ordering from Mandarake for years.

Anyone know if there is a way to permanently allow viewing 18+ items? The block keeps refreshing about twice a day and it's getting annoying. I did set up my DOB info on my account and I don't get why the site just doesn't automatically check that.

If you live in a shitty country that taxes the fuck out of everything (like the UK), it's very likely that you will have to pay a fee for buying goods from abroad (in this case Japan).

I ordered zero suit Samus figma from Amiami when she was first released.
The figure plus shipping was roughly £40.
The postal service (royal mail) saw that my package was worth more than £15 (the threshold for tax free items), so they slapped on 20% VAT and charged me £8 for the privilege of using their services.
So in the end, the figure ended up costing me £56~ and that's why I never order from Amiami.

Mandarake are one of the few places that will undervalue your package, so it's less likely to get taxed. I always ask for a ¥1000 declaration because it is guaranteed to slip through customs unless they open it, but they never have.

Fag who used to work at a credit card processing company here. Almost any debit card with a visa/mastercard stamp on it can be run as a credit card. There are some debit/atm cards that have no credit function and /require/ a pin to be entered. These are what sellers are usually referring to when they say "no debit." Basically, just look at your bank account; if you see the charge hitting it and there's no decline message, your fine.
