So Trump is forgoing to apply tariffs to an additional $200 billion in goods from China, including toys.
Obv the details matter and we will have to wait and see exactly what gets taxed and the tariff rate. Worst case scenario for /toy/ would be all toys from China taxed at 25 percent.
Question for the burgers: do you think you would continue to collect? Would the added cost drive you out or would you just cut back?
Do you think the current toy retailing marketplace (online and brick and mortar) could survive the drop in anticipated drop in business?
I mostly collect Hot Toys so I imagine other 1/6 collectors would be really stung paying an additional 25% tariff. Depending on the figure, that could be an extra $50-100 bucks. But I expect Marvel Legends collectors would be equally cheesed at having to pay $5-7 in tax per figure.
