Anyone else feeling that the RideWatches are minimalist for legend gimmicks? Aside from Zi-O and Geiz watches which have 3 independent sounds alone and a full finisher sound with the driver, the legend ridewatches have very little to them that is worth anticipating for, aside from the biographies spoken by Rikiya Koyama. I won't even talk about the inability to rotate the face so that it would fit on the left side of the driver properly, but I think the sound quantity should have at least matched Zi-O's and Geiz's, while the quality is less derivative with how the armor time sounds go. Ridewatches aren't completely awful gimmicks, but there have been better legend rider products in the past that show more effort to them (ex: Lockseeds with the individual molds and 3 respective finishers, Gashats with two henshin sounds for mix-and-match)
Anonymous
>>7165522 It's a bit naff that they only have two lines outside of the driver, and only one with it (But the callout for Rider/Armour time is different depending on the slot which isn't much), but I feel like the Decade watch will give more playability, for lack of a better word, to them.

Anonymous
>>7165351 They're neat figures that can pull off the trademark poses with swappable hands, also might be the first time we get all 20 rider figures without a gimmick attached unlike decades legend figures. It's not impossible, maybe the lower price means they'll release way more figures then usual, but at the least I'ld expect some of the older riders to end up as p-bandai releases.

I would be pretty dissapointed if we didn't atleast get decade and the phase two riders as rkf's, if they made the phase 1's p bandai with some more paint i wouldn't be upset. But there's still many months to come for legend figures mixed in with the next batch of upgrades and third rider.

>>7165811 Weren't Kiva and Den-O just slightly shorter than the original SHF Kabuto, but taller than Souchaku Henshin Kabuto? They'd be huge compared to RKF.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>7166015 To add to this, if they stop with auxiliary riders after builds rkf's they could do two legends per month aka
Jan - ghost and drive
Feb - gaim and wizard
March - fourze and ooo
April - double and decade
May - Kiva and den-o
June - Kabuto and hibiki
July - blade and faiz
August - ryuki and agito
Due to exaid being only legend on the list for dec it's possible one month may be 3 releases or ghost could be at the tail end of december. Kuuga would fall somewhere in p Bandai or pushed into august. This is just a theory though, but with how the next zi-o arcs will have two legend riders ala the fourze and faiz two parter they could be released next after exaid to correspond with the episode.

The only really, incredibly perplexing thing about them is making them say "Ziku Driver," which is plain flat out retarded, and seems to be what trips people up. From the looks of it, if you just trigger that before you put it into the belt, they work just fine. I'd even say they do the finishers better, since the whole thing with having to press the buttons on the individual watches for the DX is kind of tedious. Just doing it automatically with an extra spin seems more intuitive. And the lights and faceplate gimmicks are dumb and superfluous, so there's not a lot lost there.
The thing with the top button is dumb, but expected, and like the missing gimmicks also months old news. At least unlike Gashats or something they're not really missing any sounds. If I was actually interested in collecting Ridewactches I'd probably still spring for these over DXs, at least.

>>7168553 I wouldn't say they look *bad*, but yes the proportions are off. The only one this really stands out to me on is base RT Build, although it effects Rogue pretty substantially as well. They increased the size of his legs to about SS size, but actually decreased the size and width of his torso/shoulders so his upper body is way too skinny. This results in his arms looking too small.
Otherwise he's fine, Cross Z Charge and Grease are some of the my favorite figuarts releases yet. Rogue suffers a little because his torso isn't wide enough to facilitate his collar, his head is slightly too large in proportion to his body, the jaws of the crocodile are too tall/detached from the helmet and his shoulders are too narrow/ shoulder pads too small.
They still all look great but there is room for improvement.
(pictured: see how Build/Kuuga's legs are the same but kuuga has a more substantial upper body)

So, did nobody try to hack any extra finisher names out of Ziku Driver yet? We know that Zi-O's base Ridewatch gives Time Break, Geiz's base Ridewatch gives Time Burst and using just one or two Legend Ridewatches gives Attack, but what about the other ones? I'm especially interested in Tsukuyomi and the rest of Ridewatches with the third standby. My Ziku Driver should arrive in a week or two, so if I don't hear anything by then, I'll hack it myself and report my findings here.

Seriously?), but they each have special non-main riders that are exclusively distributed between them. There's no doubt they will eventually release a DX version via premium bandai and whatnot, just that it'll probably be a multi-watch set that you can't pick from and it 'll cost a huge chunk. This is far worse than the Lockseed toyline's distribution.

Add on the fact that the CSM OOO has pretty much everything in terms of gimmick items from the show + then some, with the notable exception of any Cell Medals. They're probably saving a full set of those to go with a CSM Birth Driver, I would bet.
As for when, I would probably guess late 2019, after Zi-O's over. I'm suspecting that the majority of the coming year's CSMs will be main Drivers mostly from early-Heisei, probably mostly remakes of early CS releases, keeping with all the 20th anniversary celebrations. They've already done/are doing the V-Buckle and Kuuga Arcle- it wouldn't surprise me if the Agito Alter Ring or something was next.
But this is all just guesswork, of course. Not gonna tell you "muh dad works for Bandai" or anything.

Yeah, hlj is pretty damn messy right now. Ex-aid and Drive ridewatches marked as "in stock", but the site outright refuses to let me add them to the cart, the button just refreshes the page. This only seems to be a problem with these two items specifically; other stuff marked as "in stock" can be added fine. If the site itself knows they're out of stock, then why is it marked to the contrary? Is it really too hard for their programmers to have products change status automatically once something can't be brought anymore? If they ARE in stock, however, then what's the problem? Why am I barred from adding these specific items to my cart, reeeee.

I live a whole continent away, and shipping to here is usually pretty expensive. I prefer my orders of Japanese crap to be full of stuff- to justify the shipping costs a bit more. This is where the private warehouse comes in handy; I don't have to pay a seperate shipping bill every dang time one or two new little gimmick toys come out. [/personalblog]
However, given the reports that even that seems to be screwing up for hlj at the moment, it's probably a safer option to use ami for the moment. At least until hlj sort themselves out, but who knows how long that'll take.

>>7167137 Renewal = new figure of a character who was previously covered in the line. This is a generic term rather than a branding thing.
Shinkocchou Seihou = a specific "premium" subline of S.H. Figuarts. Simpler packaging, higher level of detail, sculpt focused around emulating a realistic body structure. Many of these are characters who have previously had SHF releases, but that's not a requirement (see: the Hibiki releases).
So a release could be both a renewal AND SS, but there are renewals that aren't SS and SS releases that aren't renewals.

>>7180763 Mostly looks nice, but what's with that wine red they use for his suit? The difference in color between it and his eyes shouldn't be nearly so fast.

now I wonder if HLJ is gonna put those belts up for pre-order, or are they gonna be retarded about it?

>>7180796 >>7180805 An additional complication here is that Decade's ridewatch is a somewhat different shape from the rest due to him being the first power up. Which means if the silhouette there is accurate, either they're just letting Decade's stand be inaccurate and hiding it for no particular reason, orrrr...

This is a neat idea, but I can't help but feel like they fumbled it. It looks like it kills head articulation, and in an uncharacteristic oversight after the past couple of years the belt is left with only one Ridewatch. Doesn't look like the grasshopper armor has any knee joints either. I guess they tried, but the fact that none of the product images show it doing anything but standing there is telling.

For being so bulky and having its own big rocket gimmick, the Fourze Armor seems to leave articulation pretty unhindered.

>>7180830 This is the one armor I was expecting to look really cool. Since they aren't doing the Wizard Armor maybe I'll just give up on the gimmick line.

>>7180928 What's amiami like as a place to buy, I've heard some horror stories of poor, uncaring customer service. What are the shipping costs like?

So my first-release Ziku Driver from amiami finally arrived, but it didn't come with Cross-Z Ridewatch. Is that the same case for anyone just buying the driver alone, or did they just ran out of supply before my order? It's not like I really wanted it, but I was planning to sell it off to make some money back for the driver purchase.
