>>7168207As someone who was a90's kid and grew up with beast Wars, I completely understand the constant desire for G1, because we've never really gotten a cohesive, complete G1 reboot or updates of the entire G1 line like other brands have gotten. We've gotten very close and between official and 3P, the Masterpiece line will probably round out representations of pretty much every 84/85 cast member in 5 years.
G1 fans have had this eager anticipation for updates of G1 ever since 2000, when Car Robots came
out.At the time, a lot fo people even accepted those as a G1 update. but then we got slightly better, more G1 updates in Energon. Then more in Alternators. Then finally, Classics.
Consider this: MOTU fans got 2k3; a fairly faithful update that kept the core cast. GI Joe got an update aroudn the same time; again keeping the core cast. Superhero fans constantly get figures of older characters. But in 2003, transformers' big reboot was a drastic change from G1's core cast. Then later on while Classics emerged, MOTU and Joe fans got even more faithful updates while G1 fans had redesigned ones.
