Star Wars is pretty poopy right now. Supposedly people are finding newer Vintage figures, color me shocked. Snoke and his Amazing Bland Crew of Sequel Shit are still pegwarming hard in every store around here. 6" is stagnant as well, minus exclusives and Gamestop sometimes coming through.

So as I said in the last thread, my Target has been sitting on 4 Gamorrean Guards for the last week and a half.

And that hasn't changed. But they decided to put Moloch out, one of them anyway, and I actually like this critter, even though Solo was a flaming pile of shit. I will say, this figure feels more worth $30 than the Gamorrean did. Nice and chunky. Mildly immobile, granted, but it's all about that heft man.

I will say his shoulder joints feel weak somehow. Not quite loose, but they feel like they could pop out if you weren't careful? Head is on a tiny ball joint, so you can get some personality tilt, but that's about it. Swivel hinge elbows, gun totin' hinge on the left hand, in and out hinge on the right. Staff is unimpressive for all the fuss they made about it at the shows.

The gamoreean's are okay but not as good as they could be. The paint on the nose is wrong and the symbol in the middle of their armour is missing. These were both correct on the 3.75" figure.
If you're paying £35 for a figure, these things should be covered, no exceptions.
Shortcuts end up ruining a line as has been proven time and time again.

While I agree, the art can be a hit or miss. I just kind of accepted it at this point. I LOVED the mon calamari Grivous guy. So fucking dumb but cool. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him

Hardcore collecting since 1995's relaunch. I always had some of my older sister's vintage figures hanging around, and I got pretty hooked on Micro Machines Star Wars when that started. But the POTF2 line was what pulled me in hard.

And that continued up until Disney bought the franchise, and after TFA, I started selling things off. I still love Star Wars, I thankfully found, but I don't love what it's become. So tending to the collection still.

It just sucks watching the line start off exciting and new(albeit bumpy with the He-Men and long sabers and weirdness), get better and better and eventually hit this amazing pinnacle of 3" glory...only to crash and burn into what it is today.

I’ve been collecting Star Wars since before I was cognizant. There’s pictures of me with Star Wars figures in my hands when I was like 2. Have no idea how I even got into it as nobody in my family even likes the movies all that much, but for whatever reason I have no memories of not loving Star Wars. I’ve just always known the original trilogy inside and out.

I’ll always have a soft spot for POTF2. I feel like out of any Star Wars line, no other had a better cast of characters. I’ll defend that line to the death lol. It started off bad, but if you look at those figures coming out by the line’s end they were great. Much better paint than we’re getting today and sculpts that were certainly more than passable in their time. I’m surely a little bias cause this was my first Star War line.

My personal favorite figures will always be POTF2 Nien Nunb, Ponda Baba, and probably Yakface. The big appeal of Star Wars toys to me was always the aliens. I’m not as down on Disney Star Wars as others, I just wish more aliens came out these days. Also wish Disney would use some of those pre-established cool aliens more often in their movies.

This. I'm not interested in the prequels and haven't even bothered watching any of the new films, but I have got into the idea of getting a small collection of figuarts and mafex original trilogy figures. Only have mafex ESB Boba Fett and Figuarts R2 and 3PO so far, but I'm really enjoying them & looking forward to seeing what comes out in the near future. Especially interested to see if Bandai come up with a nice range for ESB in 2020.

There's some awesome stuff around these days- even if the films themselves have dropped the ball hard.

I got Tarkin and the parka Trooper from Solo (forgot its name). I honestly like the new trooper designs, just dont care to watch the movie. Rogue One was the same way, but ended up liking it more than I thought. Are the other Solo troopers coming out soon? I've only seen the one.

Youtube has some deleted Solo scenes, the big battle on Mimban was actually longer than in the original cut. They show Beckett holding some mudtrooper grunt guy as he dies and looking morose, I think it implied the random guy was also part of his crew in disguise, which makes their "we're shorthanded" comments later make more sense.
