a 3rd party Transformers company did a figure called Glacialord which was meant to look like an 80's Transformer. He had the proper gimmicks and colors a mid 80's TF would have. These, too, nail the style well, but I just can't fathom an 80's toy company buying the rights to DC characters and just redesigning them as barbarian types. putting superheroes in different themes was more a 90's thing. I mean, I'll still probably buy a few of these if they go cheap enough, I just wish they put the effort into something more era appropriate.
And now I really want to see New Gods styled like MOTU toys. Might have to draw that myself.
