So instead of posting what we bought lets get some opinions out there. Any consensus on the pachirhno/sinoceratops? I personally love it. Great paint job, beautiful sculpt. It looks nice, bulky and heavy. The action feature is basic. but it's pretty all you can do with this species and it makes sense.

I orginally assumed it was the same body, but yeah, looking at them side by side nothing is reused. Triceratops back is more of a big arc, while Sino's has 2 humps. Tail is straight versus curved, and even the feet are different, with the Sino's toes being much longer.

I got that set recently at Walmart, they have it on rollback for $39.97 CDN. I love all the little details, and the generic brown raptor is nice to have as previously all the sets except maybe the Lego Juniors raptor rescue truck come with specific character raptors.

I saw an ad for Toys R Us Canada having their usual bricktober promotions, and the second week's minifigure set is a Jurassic world set that comes with Claire, Owen, baby Blue and Ian Malcom.

I'm not confident because I feel like they just have cg models they scale up for the different sized figures, but then again, we did get some pretty different-looking raptors between the jumpers and the non-jumpers for no reason, and the Ceratosarus's chomp and EC Rex tongue tell me Mattel's actually listening to fan complaints.

I wonder if the EC Rex just looks smaller than it really is in it's native packaging. Even though it's not as big as the TNT, once I got it out and put it with my other figures I was definitely happy with how it still towers over them.

I think it's just some kind of deal where the 'action feature' dinosaurs that are neither AP nor BD were their own mini-line but then got rolled into the Legacy heading because maybe one or both initially didn't have enough figures on their own, or some other weird bookkeeping reason.

The 'legacy or not' distinction in terms of dinos has always been played pretty fast and loose to begin with.

Canadian poster here, not sure if this is noteworthy, but I just bought a figure of Maisie with the T-rex skull at Walmart. I thought I had read that Maisie was intended to be Target exclusive, but maybe it was changed so IDK if she's just hard to find or part of one of the later action figure assortments.

I passed it up because I'm more about articulation than action features, and I ended up being one of the only people on earth to not care about the head sculpt. It looks neat, but it also might be a bit fragile, so apparently the general consensus is to check it carefully before buying it in case some kid wrecked it already.

Also check the eyes since some of them are painted and some aren't, apparently.

And they carry anything that they think will make them a buck. Mark-up's not high enough. I got my Pachyrhino today and it looks pretty good with the Sino colors. The only thing I don't like about it is that every time I move the head up slightly it triggers the noise function. With my Trike I can move its head all around without it making a sound and it only roars when the button is pushed. They must've linked the head movement directly with the sound mechanism in the Pachyrhino.

Same here, moving the head makes the button on the back being 'pressed' and as such triggers the whole thing. It makes sense since you can only push the head up and that is exactly its action mechanism. I'd say just take the batteries out.

When people prepare to release a fucking action figure in a big national chain like that, there's going to be a lot. Are they trying to tell us that they made enough Spinosaurus to stock the shelves of every Target in the United States, but whoops, somehow they all managed to sell out every single fucking one of them during an unannounced few-hour window in the dead or night that happened once or twice?

Either there's a bunch of Spinos gathering dust in a warehouse somewhere and someone screwed up big, or there's something even weirder going on.

Alternate theory: Sometimes businesses buy things just to deny access to them to the competition, like car companies buying and burying patents for improved carburetors or GE burying the "hundred year lightbulb" featured on one episode of Mysteries at the Museum. I'm not entirely sure I believe this is the case, although I do understand how often business will do things like that, with vastly varying levels of competency. While some of Target getting the Legacy line was probably also rooted in making sure Walmart or TRU(RIP) didn't get it and lucking out on probably the most popular sub-line, the Spino wasn't even unveiled when these deals went down. So I'm not sure how making sure Walmart didn't get it has any relevancy in Target later on seemingly abritrarily dunking a popular item that came later on.

So a bucket load of repaints and some new figures for 2019 just dropped. Nothing overly spectacular, but a bunch of nice little surprises - new, darker T Rex with new points of articulation, some really funky new colours almost Chaos-level wild.

Mattel IS shifting to an almost Chaos Effect colour scheme with these new figures. Truthfully, I appreciate repaints. Not sure if I will go after them as eagerly as the first three waves we have had so far (I don't need a third herrerasaurus per se, for example), but I wouldn't pass up on them if I saw them in a local (online) store (in the Netherlands). Don't feel like going crazy on import for these though.

The new sculpts are well cool though!

They do have access to all properties of the Jurassic franchise. So it's absolutely possible that they'll make stuff from games. They've already got the JPTG Herrerasaur, so maybe they'll expand upon that in the future

I can see that but it's not the same thing as marking a fictional species that has no relevance to the Canon of the JP/JW franchise or story. I personally wouldn't worry about that kind of thing happening anytime soon since Mattel is doing what Hasbro never did and is useing real scientifically know speices as they presently known which I am very impressed by this direction that Mattel is taking the brand in, it holds much promise for the future.

Welp, Concavenator fits the bill pretty closely, and is one of the few confirmed medium sized Theropods we know of so far. In my opinion that is one Butte of a dinosaur to pick and it's pretty cool pick on Mattel's part if I may say so myself. Can't wait for this line next year, 2019 here we come.

From the looks of it and what I've seen so far this, has to be the most scale accurate size chart I've seen that does the JP/JW filmverse justice. And it also seem accurate or at least pretty close to the toy line's scale. If this is anything to go off of as far as what we can expect for say an Indominus rex than the Indominus will no doubt be bigger than even the Spino, now that would be must have if it does come out in the 2019 toy line which seems pretty likely from the various interviews and rumors floating around, as well as the info we got last year from the leaker about Mattel's plans for including an Indominus initially.
What are your thoughts on this and what we could see in 2019?

I think since these were just promo shots the Pteranodon paint scheme has changed to that green and yellow one released in the legacy galli packs. the others have probably just moved to wave 3 legacy and battle damage. soon hopefully.
