>>7182860You're just a blind weeaboo who doesn't remember pages 0 and 1 being almost nothing but Bayformers and TFA talk, because generals were not a thing.
You're also ignoring the fact that we had multiple threads on GI Joe, Iron Man, Halo, DCUC, Marvel Universe/Fury Files, etc, with IM being almost as popular as TF for a time.
And the board was slower back then, so active discussion was limited to the first 3 or 4 pages, and everything after that being dead.
There was no catalog, fewer threads per page, and for a time there were 15 pages.
You just had an awfully limited view of how /toy/ used to be.
The fact that you even point as Link and Samus as being some high point is a laugh, because they still did not reach the point that threads about TF, Iron Man, Bat Man, Iron Man, Iron Man, Spider Man, GI Joe, Iron Man, Halo, and Iron Man got every single day.
Did i mention Iron Man? Because boy, there sure were a ton of Iron Man threads back then, but they were paltry in number compared to TF.
I'd have to be dumb to ignore the EVA, Kamen, and Dragon Ball threads, but they weren't as big as TF, Bayformers, TFA, Armada, etc etc threads that permeated /toy/ for so long. Also, the DBZ threads weren't as big back then as they are now.
I bet you thought the Shinki threads were big too, despite the fact that various posters had nothing to say for days at a time and only posted drawings and porn to bump the thread to the front page.
Shit, now I'm feeling sad because there are fewer lines than there used to be and the generals squash discussion to all but the most popular figures.
BTW, this is my post
>>7182793, so i assume your english is just shit.
>Case in point; thinking western toys being popular here isn't relatively new.fixed?
