It's a pretty fair argument. They've attempted things like a fairly teen approach at a modern Thundercats and it and the toyline bombed. Whjle many of these new shows that are heavily criticised online, TMNT, Teen Titans, etc, are doing very well with the audience they actually want.

Lots of good figs over the years but I don't care to have a collection of figures greater than an environment to house them.. snake mountain is all kinds of badass and I think this is a good crew to fill it out.

Not that anon, but I totally disregard the lore and just decide who's a hero and villain based on, well, I'm not too sure. My gut? What I think would work for a story?
I believe the biggest disappointment for a lot of these toy lines was the incessant "need" to give them lore instead of just selling cool looking toys that the kids could imagine as whatever they wanted. It stunted a whole generation of kids' creativity.

For two figures (He-Man and Skeletor) it's going to cost me $12 to ship from Super7. If you want all 4 of the Filmation figures, you're good, but if you just want say, She-Ra, then you're gonna have to eBay for it or bigbad it.

Some figures you can probably get for near cost, but some shoot up I bet. It's a shitty situation.

I think selling those 2 and wave 3 of club grayskull at the same time is a mistake though.

I want Fisto and She-Ra but wave 3 + he man and skeletor is $210 + $ 70 shipping, which is a lot to spend on toys all at once.
