>>7206970Best basics are Insecticon, Razorclaw, Claw Jaw, Quickstrike, Buzzclaw, Terragator, TM2 Spittor, Stinkbomb, and BW Neo stampy
Best Deluxes are Tigatron, Cybershark, K--9, Sk Shadow, Injector(most unjustly hated TF ever.) Transmetal Cheetor, TM Terrorsaur, ramulus, and TM2 Iguanus.
Generally I think they hold up pretty well; modern engineering has made for more useful articulation, but the nature of them being beasts means a lot of the BW figures have a lot of articulation out of transformation necessity. Basically, modern TFs can sell a pose better because of subtle movements like ankle/head/ bicep/etc movement being implemented for the sake or articulation, where as when bW figures have a lot of joints the posing can be a lot more stiff and, ironically, robotic because they weren't designed to pose for display since the collector's market was still emerging.
But in general I'd say Transformers improve in a lateral manor more than anything, for what improvements their might be in modern transformers you can definitely tell the budget cutting in paint and sculpt compared to a Transmetal deluxe, for example.
