Considering they're probably gonna put this in a $30 box anyway, it would have been nice if instead of split apart arms, he came with two sets of arms. that way 2 armed form wouldn't loose articulation.

This mostly stems from Hasbros obsession with cost cutting measures but seeing the need for every character to get dedicated sculpts (unlike Marvel Legends).
On one hand they want to reuse as many sculpts as they can in their release schedule but on the other hand they don't want to do too many clone troopers even though it would make the most sense. So they have to make weird variants like Wet hair Luke in Stormtrooper disguise, not to be confused with regular hair Luke in Stormtrooper disguise. Or this stupid Phasma.

You can spot most of the same points of articulation. The wrist hinges are already superior because they go both directions and not just to one side.
The only downgrades I expect are the hips only being swivels, the torso being one solid piece and the hands being static.

Just picked up the DS Stormtrooper.
At Target this thing would be $30. Disney store has it for $25, which to be honest, is exactly the right price for these “deluxe” figures.

And found a Sabine at my LCS for retail price. The Stormtrooper just needs a pair of LED lights to stick under the blasts. His stand is surprisingly great, too. Small, interlocking, has a central piece you can flip for either floor or SW logo. It’d be really nice if theyd start packaging these with every figure.

They’re printed on, not hand-applied. I looked through the shelf at the store trying to find one that looked “good” but they all looked the same. Once I got it home I could make out the printing dots.

But they’re OK. Not great by any means, but I’d wager they could be removed somehow, or just painted over.

Since this is the only version of this mold I currently have, I’m cool with it and the price tag. I guess if they did put out some discounts, I’d be in for Zuckuss and another Trooper, but never again with that awful Phasma.
