Got Gotenks. Not bad. Gotta play with him some more to really out a final verdict on him. But I can definitely report the face plates on mine are not any more loose than the standard SHF. I can see how his collar could possibly pop the face off if you didn't seat it all the way on. But if you attach it properly it stays on just fine.

I'll post more pics later.

I think it's the latest protos that were just shown off in Japan that show the figure as we'll receive it (with the biceps). This event is in Europe and they probably don't have a hold on the newest prototype yet.

Alright messing around aside, Gotenks is only ok imo. His collar hinders his neck movement a bit and it does cause the other two face plates to pop off on mine. The only one that stays is the regular face. His shoulders leave alot to be desired and personally I'm not a fan of the single jointed elbows. His torso and legs are decent but his ankles absolutely suck. It was a real chore to get him to stand in some of those poses in my light tent. His accessories are decent but I wish we got at least a base head and more hands. He doesn't even have two open hands. If anyone is on the fence about this I'd say pass unless you're like me and are a completionist. Or if you really love the character.

Guys what's the best Trunks figure according to you?
I've seen the Cell SS Trunks, the old Future Trunks ones (both the common and the premium) and I also checked the upcoming DBS figure.

They are all kind of cool... but they are also not cool enough IMO. Are those the best I can get or do you have any other recommendation?

Right now? Cell Saga trunks (plus he's super cheap). PC and Old Trunks are2 of the worst figures to come from this line. I expect the upcoming one to be great figure so I'd wait for that one

That doesn't prevent something from being dissapointing. She had an increidbly lackluster faceplate selection and her awkward scale makes her hard to enjoy. Gotenks I don't have yet, but it's not looking too great.

The DB figures aren't in scale with the DBZ figures. She's in scale with DB stuff. I do agree the face selection was a bit lame but still, I don't feel she's a bad release.

There have been way worse releases at the very least. Her release makes me angry how shit the articulation is on some of the others.

I got my Gotenks' earlier today, and honestly all the negative things people said have been true.

His faces don't secure very well and they pry off very easily due to how deep his neck sits inside his head, he could've really benefitted from either double-jointed elbows or a cut to allow for a deeper bend, his right hip cover is slightly too far forward so it stresses the crotch piece when you lift the leg past a certain point, and the glactic donut doesn't stay in the holder very well.

He's a neat little figure though, despite his flaws.

You forgot to mention how the upper chest and yellow puffy bits are all cast in blue plastic because it was cheaper to produce that way. It looks like shit though. I can see the blue peaking through a bit on yellow because yellow is super hard to get right. Should have been cast in yellow OR flesh tone to make the yellow cover it easier.

Same goes for the chest. The flesh tone over blue is awful and it doesn't match the other flesh tone parts that are cast in flesh color. Why not cast the fucking thing in flesh color so the chest matches properly then paint the blue vest? That'd of been the superior look.

Bandai's cost cutting shit on this expensive line is obnoxious as fuck.

I got my Gotenks a couple days ago, and luckily, he doesn't seem to have the face plate problem that a lot of other people have.

It does baffle me why the sculpted his upper body and the shoulder pad things in a color that's not found anywhere on either.

That and the scale are what bug me most. I honestly don't find him to be terrible, but he's certainly mediocre, and Bandai dropped the ball with him like Majin Vegeta. Which is disappointing, since they're both kind of surrounded by a lot of other really good (or hopefully really good on the upcoming ones) Buu-arc figures.

It is almost assured that they'll do another Gotenks in the future for either the Base head or the SS3 head (or both) so hopefully they fix some of these stupid problems by then.

Apart from the DBZ line going through a slow period where lots of characters were never ever status, I think most people just expected Bandai to skip Super Buu and make the Gohan-absorbed version. Especially since that version actually had a prototype shown at one point
That proto was even on a 1.0 body, though, so after Bandai started working on 2.0s, they decided at some point to make regular Super Buu instead
I think Fat Buu was a lot more unexpected, though

Bandai didn't start filling out the roster by sagas until somewhat recently, so seeing them go for Fat Buu along with Super Buu is pretty surprising, when their MO used to be just doing a few of the more important characters. I guess they did the Androids but they're more of an anomaly, really
Now that they're focusing more on putting out more characters like Tien, Yamcha and even freaking Satan and Saiyaman, I guess Fat Buu isn't too shocking. But there was a time where it felt like he didn't have any chance

Think of the SHF line as the modern successor of the Super Battle Collection line and you'll get what Bandai's choices are like. at least until the end of Z. These are the characters and designs Bandai deemed popular enough at the height of Dragon ball's popularity to get a toy. Mainly Saiyans, and no humans.The sHF line is more inclusive of course, but generally, if it was important enough to cover in SBC, its very likely for SHF.

I would argue that first form Frieza is as iconic as final form due to how long he is in that form during the arc and the Bardock special featuring it heavily. The scene of him destroying planet Vegeta is one of his most memorable.

Anyone else realize that its probably going to be like a year before we get another Dragonball figure? We haven't even seen any new prototypes, and Kid Krillin comes out next month. It'll be late next year at the earliest before another one comes out, and that's assuming they show off another one relatively soon.

Naw, they'll probably reveal 1-2 more at least before the end of the year. I think we're only up to May-June for revealed figures. They need about 6 more to fill out next year. Maybe a reveal once a month.

Gotenks is in the DB scale line... because those are scaled different because it's another line you see and not because Figuarts sucks at scaling smaller figures.
Just a smaller fucking head would do so much for everyone including Gotenks and old Krillin.
They're going to ruin Goten and Trunks if they ever get to it too.
