Well at least Papa Toys Ultra Magnus ended up with white shoulders, too bad the chest is still lacking some color. The face with the goggles and closed mouth looks ok.

I heard some people were able to get Tarn at TFCon for a "good deal", anyone go to the con and know what it was? In robot mode... hmmm not quite, but I get your point. I got it pretty cheap from China ebay though, came fast too, so I'm not too bothered, its masterpiece scale but not quite masterpiece detailed but then its also a third of the price of master piece figures.

The Cab mode is lush though.

Glad I held off on the IDW version I didn't care about. This is the Overlord I've wanted since discovering the Japanese series online back in the 90's. Just a big chunk of 80's mecha. Hope Fans Hobby keeps up with more stuff soon after this, though, feels like it ate up all their recourses.

Well the next two shown off products are their Roadbuster, which they're also reworking like they did with Double Evil. Then there were the very rough prototypes of MB-11, which is their Godbomber release. We know that MB-10 is G2 Megatron, but that hasn't had anything shown off.

I'd be very impressed if he's really close enough now to make for a January release. I'm also interested, but he is quite a big boy.

but why would anyone want this other than the carmode? it's robot proportions are shit, the face sculpt is awful, the shins look terrible and everything from the waist down looks nothing like its original renders, it has a confusing international and chinese release version (both of which retailers can't really confirm which is which just that one has livery), he's too sharp angled and overall the worst representation of the character unless you are keeping it in car mode.

Some people want a more traditional, less animated Jazz. I think I'm still going for the Zeta/Toyworld version, though, just has a little more life to it I guess. Hova just looks so bland it barely registers to me. Even with TW/Zeta's flaws it at least looks visually interesting.

what's the normal name dualcast? Whatever it is, i need one! Don't care how big it is, but ideal would be about 4-8 inches in bot mode, and i need personality in him.

I mainly am asking here because there is a better shot at the size i want being covered here than in official sizing, due to the insisted on gimmick.

I want him for J. Jonah Jameson to have as a partner when i finally get my 'renegade journalist of justice' custom finished, right now this is my best option at a radio broadcaster for him to hold, though i COULD perhaps customize one of the soundwave toys this size to be the 'travelling radio transmitter unit' if there isn't a suitable option.

Why not go with the SND Primo kit for the CW Prime? I got the X-Mortis upgrade for the white recolored Prime and it's pretty cool. It's mostly the same kit as the one to make IDW Prime.

I own the prime and when I got him one of his tires were chewed up out of the box, I can take pictures later.
Honestly though if you want a figure to play with and transform get the generation toy one. If you just want the robot mode and dont care about height get the kit that's coming out soon.
The gcreations prime looks fantastic but is the worst feeling toy I own.

FlameToys is basically just Sentinel, isn't it? all of Sentinel's stuff is overpriced, even stuff that isn't Transformers. I guess its because they're a relatively small company so its harder for them to break even. They make beautiful figures, but its not uncommon for them to drop in price because of how damn expensive they are. This won't be the case with the flame Toys stuff, though, seeing as drift sold out a while ago.

DonFiguroa, who used to work on Transformers comics and did a lot of designs, worked with them to get toys made of his own comic, and it ended up being priced so high it basically killed the line. He wanted something around $100 so it could be army built; sentinel made a $300 figure(that just got discounted at BBTS recently)

Execpt they're all different companies. Sentinel is the only one big enough to produce things on a professionnal level so smaller companies come to them and ask them for help.

Managed to find the CrazyDevy purple barrel for $12, but the color doesn't really match, kinda sad but still better than the green barrel.

Some back and forth on the closed Armarauders FB page. One of the designers posted last year that things were still in development, and last month he responded that things are still happening, but the whole 3rd party market/landscape has changed since they started this. They’re trying to 1) develop a new kind of combiner, and 2) trying to find a better way to develop/market the line.
But yeah, even though the initial run of Armarauders sold out, Sentinel has not been... ideal, as collectors can attest

There's still listings of the original on eBay (unfortunately higher than MSRP), as well as the aforementioned black and (upcoming) Shattered Glass versions being readily available.

See above. Closed Armarauders FB group. One of the guys working on it pops in every so often if you poke at it. Everyone involved in Armarauders is juggling several projects but they’re still working on them, there’s still a lot of logistics to work out. They had a gunmetal Bellerophon without the docking gantry all ready to go, because they wanted something on the market that was more affordable, but I have no idea if Sentinel is going to keep producing them for them or if they’re trying to find a new factory.

The knockoff sponsor names on TW are definitely a point against it but honestly even worse is the fact that it is a MP-you that still has hollow forearms. That know if shit is absolutely inexcusable at that scale and price point. I also don't like how the backs of his calves are also attached to his ankle rockers so it basically breaks his entire leg apart if you splay his legs too far apart. It's a damn shame because it managed to capture the Toon/toy hybrid aesthetic that MPs used to be but it just drops the ball so hard when it comes to engineering.

This was kind of implied in their initial appearance in IDW during "Maximum Dinobots", but nothing else really came of it.

The closet other origin they have is from their old commercial and even then it was only implied - result of some kind of experiment that backfired and gave them monster modes.

I've got a MT/FP wombo combo with some PE sprinkled in. I started focusing on doing a Cross Dimension setup by pulling from everything that has a similar aesthetics. PX is on a second row and mostly just has its presence bulked out by their citybots. The rest is random stuff from MMC & GT in an attempt to start an IDW set. I also have a bunch of IF legends I swap in when I assemble the MT/FP combiners since they match scale and the detailing to fit in.

Burning Slug is awesome, but I fucked mine up a bit because I felt one part was a bit too stiff. So I loosened it, but too much. Then retightend it...Too much. And so on and so forth. I should probably buy another because now I'm convinced I'm gonna break the poor guy through my own idiocy.

He's definitely not absolute garbage, but he did feel like a step back from what Apollo was. The other struggle I've had can be getting his head master back in just the right way. I'm glad that Odin is really good, even if I still struggle with his transformation armatures being too tight. I was hoping to see more progress on Devy at the last reveal, because it didn't seem so much different from his initial showing. But it's also good to know they have two other projects lined up as well.

I hope they lean a little toward a more stylistic combined mode, or maybe one more reminiscent of their toy's appearance. I'm gonna be disappointed if Superion and Menasor just end up being giant White/Black men with planes/cars strapped on, especially considering Fanstoys has a bit of a track record of taking some stylistic decisions and toy homages, rather than going pure sunbow.

Those are pretty much my thoughts too. Vortex has already been shown to have a great range of motion on its own as a limb, but the problems it could face would be just how clean they can get the robot modes to look. Zeta already has their own issues of giant blocks of kibble hanging all over, so having two halves of a hand showing down below in your legs could be a turn off to some.

Well considering the only Bruticus I have would be the IF one and since I would like a larger one, this one has my attention. Personally, this one has been the most visually pleasing for me and the all-in-one to me is just a really nice bonus. I don't have it, but they have shown a render and the feet are pretty barebones. Like little tiny toes.

It's the kind of thing a really basic upgrade kit could fix, though. Like just some shoes to give him bigger feet.

Paint that he had to get applied (for him) on his own copy. But it has the size that he now wants, so it makes it perfect to him. I personally don't have issues with the paint levels, and that his natural color break up work fine enough. I do admire what he had done to the eyes though, and wish the head came like that instead.

Speaking of Sales, Robot Toy Base has some and among them is Fuuma. I've been trying to save money for Black Friday sales but Fuuma was on my list of things to watch out for in a sale, and at $140 its about as low as I ever expect it to go. Pretty excited, I wanted Hexatron years ago and this feels like its spiritual successor, and I wasn't digging the more animation accurate options.

Plus I'm starting to buckle on FT Tarn, and I think they'd look good together.

Some have paint issues with chipping, paint the windshield, too much pain on the spoiler making it looks uneven on the edges. Also note his gun dosen't tab in his hand but holds with friction. I am pretty much in the same exact boat, only Rebel is also on sale and is really tempting at $55 bucks or whatever he comes out to.

You can request them to take the figures out of the boxes and ship them raw. The estimated cost for shipping both Rebel and Fuuma without boxes was like $22 for me. My concern is that Fuuma's treads will explode on you and they only give you two replacements that are made of the non-self destructing material. He's apparently a ticking timebomb otherwise.

RTB in general stocks a bunch of other shit everyone else is out of too like Alpha Pack and the rarer add on weapons and kits. There's some good shit there that's been picked over at other stores.

Yes for two reasons. First is the size. Dx9 is just too big. One can argue the car bots are too small but seeing him next to soundwave he dosen't look right (and FT are even bigger). The other is price. DX9's offering dosen't feel like a $100 piece. The engineering is there but the fit and finish isn't. Like I said $66 is around the ballpark for what he should have been in the first place.

The two leg bots we have don't have any visible limb mode, and the two arm bot protos we've seen have a seem spliting them perfectly in half. Not WD-40, because it actually fucks up the plastic really badly. You want to use either graphite lube (which is plastic safe, because it's literally just very finely ground up graphite), or certain kinds of shock oil which, if you get the right ones, should be plastic safe.

The Seacons are the single most underrepresented Decepticon combiner team, their targetmaster gimmick will be forever doomed by the fact Pirahnacon will never be able to hold the gun up on its own, most of the designs are downright silly looking, and we'll likely never see another attempt at making them after TFC's.

Even if Hasbro tries making one, it's guaranteed to be unsatisfying.

I know this thread is essentially on its way out, but I wanted to ask if there are any Hasbro / Takara CHUG pieces you're looking for. I like mine a decent amount. The only real issue I have with him is the lack of backwards leg movement. Probably could be fixed by sanding down the butt plate a bit.
