We're just also capable of understanding and accepting that "6 inch scale" is an easy way to say "somewhere around 1:12 scale, where average adult male figures are about 6 inches tall". We know that it's not technically correct, but we just don't care. It genuinely does not matter. We all know exactly what OP is talking about, and that's all we need.
