I'd almost guarantee they'll be lazy and just re-release things on movie packaging. They don't want to put the work in and make good Pokemon toys, I can't see sculpting being their strong point, so all those fur and feather and scale textures will go nowhere.

I'm so sick of Good Smile and Nintendo sitting on their hands with releasing Pokemon Nendoroids. Nendoroids were created to be a fast-release cash cow, but we barely get a new trainer a year (not including the 3 Reds, 2 Blues, and 2 Lils).

We desperately need more gym leaders, elite four, and most importantly the GSC & RSE protagonists.

Yes I know and agree they should be spot on out of the box but sometimes stuff like this sadly happens. It's useful knowledge to know anyway for if you ever do end up breaking something long after release.
As annoying as it is, it's probably quicker to get a replacement joint than deal with the hassle of jumping through hoops for a replacement.

I've genuinely never had any breakage issues from Ami Ami, they tend to pack things very securely. Chances are you just keep getting fucked on the QC lotto, I don't see how this is Ami Ami's fault. Also Ami has genuinely good customer service when it comes to things like this, I'd just contact them and ask for a replacement. Hope you didn't throw away the box they shipped it in or all the paperwork with it.

The trainer figures don't sell very well here either. Not sure where you're getting your sales data from, but there's a reason they've never really done anything like that again and why Tomy US and WCT have barely done any trainers. Not even Mega Bloks bother with any human characters in their sets. Human characters just don't appeal to kids in a series like this.

This Lapras from Bandai is pretty on point (an adult person can sit on its back), but good luck finding it at a reasonable price. There's one on Ebay that costs $8k I believe. Other than that, there is only Yahoo Auctions, but those are Japan-exclusive and it costs fuck ton of money to ship due to the size and the weight.

Simple answer?

TPCI isn't interested in the collector market. The franchise, on all fronts l, be it games, merchandise, or media are all going to appeal to the widest market they can reach. In this case it's Pokémon's main demographic, children. The games aren't made for us adults and they weren't back then either. So why should we expect anything different especially when it comes to figures?

I want good Pokémon toys as much as the next guy, but this is a company we're talking about here.

All of the D-Arts/Figuarts massively bombed, there were constant complaints about them online and nobody bought them until they hit clearance. Later attempts didn't do any better.

The closest we nave now is the Figma Pokemon trainers, but considering how quiet the latest release was and how there hasn't been so much as a hint of another coming, it seems that line hasn't done any better.

The Kotobukiya statues, while statueshit are pretty high quality though, definitely not cheap price wise either.

A couple different ones in Buffalo NY, one on Main and the other on Delaware but they both only had one (one for me and one for another local collector). Check Gamestop's site and the listing and try to reserve one in store if any near you has any. It's a great deal for a great figure.

I also saw Primarina at the Thinkgeek in Walden, but I didn't grab her. $14.99. Maybe I should have since I also have Decidueye, but that's ok.

Try checking the in-store availability. If they have one you can get it held. I got lucky and got one a bit ago. After tightening his knees and ankles he's pretty great. Even if he's not good at standing because of his little feet he feels really worth it.

Hopefully one day WCT or someone can make Pokemon figures that are actually good.

Confused. Tomy made all 3, and Incineroar is pretty objectively a good figure (probably the best Pokemon Tomy figure), especially at that price.

I do agree about the suffering though. WCT is just not cutting it. Only figure I like from them so far is Metang. I do hope they get better, and also wish they cared more about properly articulated Pokemon. The "Hero" figures from Tomy were some of my most looked forward to figures.

I think part of it is that they stay away from big "POKEMON" logos and having stock art on any of it since it's going on a Pokemon plush. They've also shown more attention to detail than you'd think they would with nice little touches like the Stantler for reindeer on the holiday cape, Eevee's cape with the Eeveelutions on it, the whole series of Pokeball hoodies that go beyond just the plain Pokeball one (Great ball for Charmander, Ultra ball for Squirtle, Quick ball for Meowth and Dive ball for Piplup), the little berry/poffin plush accessories for them to hold, and neat anime references with Jigglypuff's mic and Meowth's Team Rocket hoodie.

You mean over the VAH? I recently got the D-Arts and I really love it. The joints QC is not the best, but the sculpt is much nicer than the VAH and it's a bit bigger too.

I just recently completed the group (with Mewtwo actually , and I loved him).

I'd definitely encourage you to get the others if you can. They're probably the most articulated figures we'll ever get for those starters, and they just feel neat when you're handling them. Charizard and Blastoise in particular are my favourites, they scale nicely with other figures and in general I just love seeing them on my shelf.

Venusaur however is kinda the black sheep ; he's quite a bit smaller than the others and you can't pose him very far due to his squat design, but I'm impressed with the level of articulation they aimed for. I got him for completions sake, which maybe you'd feel the same about.

I'm probably going to get Charizard some time next month, then see if I need the figma Red or not. Really like what they did with Mewtwo here, been tinkering with it for a day and I'm surprised by how nice of a display piece it is. I wish Bandai did custom bases a lot more often, seeing just how much it added to Mewtwo.

Did anyone get WCTs kanto starters? The bulbasaur looks a bit bigger than the Tomy figures, so it might be "correctly" in scale.

It feels bad knowing that since WCT took over, they will feel the need to remake the staple mons like the starters and Pikachu, leaving less room for actual new figures. I just hope they do a big figure of pic related.

Yep, I've had a standing order since November 23rd that has yet to be filled all the way. Spent $150 on plush toys. Got my jumbo Snorlax first in less than a week, figured okay, it shipped by itself maybe because it's so big, or at a different warehouse or something.

After that, the order sat for maybe another two weeks with crickets chirping. Finally ended up getting my Sitting Cuties shipped out one by one over the course of a week shortly after that, and now January 1st they STILL owe me my Zapdos, which hasn't shipped yet.

Glad they're for my autistic ass, and weren't Christmas gifts or something. I did end up emailing them asking what the hell several times over the course or all this, and they did end up sending me a $10 voucher for my next order.

But yeah, five weeks now and everything hasn't shipped yet just because sorry, the fulfillment system is bad now?

Maybe there's a reason for no merch. Hopefully TPCi was embarrassed by the quality of their initial showings and are trying to get things in order.

Why not just buy a stake in NA Tomy (assuming that's doable)... They had so much momentum and Pokemon merch felt like it was in a good place.

Jakks didn't really make toys for movies either, they'd only make the "newly revealed" pokemon a couple months later.

No clue, their shipping was always amazing before. I’d wait until they were about 5 or so plush that I wanted to place an order, shipping would be free and I would have it in hand in 2 to 3 days.

Doesn’t help that the guys taking the customer service complaints don’t seem to even have a way to expedite getting the order noticed.
