>>7279630Don't think I like Mattel either, I shit on both of them. Those giant assholes ruined the toy market by buying out superior toy companies and turned toy stores into Soviet grocery stores as based Chadblasting have said.
>MH was one of the most cool toys for girls I have ever seenAs someone who collected MH before the reboot, collected other girl toys as well and generally have some knowledge in girl toylines, I'd like to say as much as MH was great for the most, it's very overrated for the following reasons:
1. Setting/basic story oultine - you would think a toyline with monsters would have cool setting, but noooo, they used the most awful boring girl story cliche; high school and copied it to later toylines such as Evar After High/MH 2.0 and DC Super Hero Girls
2. Preachy SJW massages- unfortunately, girl toys through the years tend to be more "educational" than boy toys and MH, is not and exception and one of the worst examples.Of course they use the god awful high school setting to preach for tolerance n' shit (like race mixing). They even gone further as making Lady Ga Ga MH doll to contribute to her shitty leftie charity organization and by that went full political.
3. Shitty play value - Articulation aside, as FASHION doll toyline, this one of the worst fashion doll toylines I have seen; the lack of fashion packs was atrocious and didn't help that each character had it's own specific theme so they couldn't swap clothes.
4. Lack of variety/ receptivity - We could and should have got more monsters down the line instead of the same characters getting 20 variations!
IMHO, the coolest girl toyline ever made was Golden Girl and the Guardians of the Gemstones which put She-Ra to dirt, but unfortunately it didn't had cartoon toy commercial to go along so it was very short lived.
The only decent toylines today are JW as you said (if Mattel put a bit more effort it could have easily been kino), TMNT and the new Fortnite by Jazwares.
