It doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering he has his scythe (rift edge)... Unless it's just an early pic. If a skin is associated with a "harvesting tool" it would make sense that they come with it. For characters like Skull Trooper, ya, just pick one that seems to fit, but for the Challenge skins that explicitly come with these weapons (and others that come bundled) it only makes sense to have those. Now I'm wondering if Omega will come with Onslaught at all...

Then again, Cuddle Team Leader came with Brite Bomber's weapon, so maybe they're just mix and matching to encourage buying other the other figures to complete the looks of the skins.

Regardless of how you feel about the game the figures from both companies are quite good (I'd say McFarlane's are excellent). And the designs are varied enough that even those that want nothing to do with the game or even the figures might see something they like enough that they might want to get it nonetheless.

I recently got the first wave of 4 and have had the chance to open CTL and Black Knight. My only real issue with CTL was her Back Bling doesn't fit right (after sanding it down it is fine), and for Black Knight I'm not a fan of how big his axe's handle is. It reminds me a lot of Mythic Legions's axe, where it was too big for the hands and ended up stretching them out. Another pet peeve is that the gun holding hands are only on their left hands (even weirder considering in the game everyone has their right hand on the trigger). And based on the pic above they don't have trigger fingers period? Or maybe they added hands? Who knows I guess.

If you get a chance to get one of these for cheap or you just feel like grabbing one, I'd suggest giving them a chance. They are really surprisingly solid, not even just for Jazwares figures, for any 4" figure. I find that they're actually even better than MU at its best (mostly due to how tight the articulation is). I was definitely surprised (my experience with these is just the 4-pack and each one is great).

I know people were speculating on what made jazwares AND mcfarlane get off their asses and make good toys with the same toyline, and I'm thinking it's just epic throwing money at them. They seem like they're taking their digital storefront seriously, but more importantly they're throwing money at devs for exclusivity deals, so I don't think it's a stretch to assume they're looking at toys the same way. Especially since fortnite is like their flagship product now.

It's all kind of moot, but it'd be hilarious if mcfarlane and jazwares pretty much had an "OK you can spend this much more and the toys will actually be good" option for the people they license from, and nobody said yes until now.

I've heard a lot of good things about the 4" ones, but I've also seen some breakage. I'd give everything the heat treatment before going too wild if something seems tight like you said.

They are fun figures to mess around with and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The only issue I had with them, were super tight joints. Fixed that with a hot water bath and now they work fine.

McFarlane has basically always been this way, but either more articulation <$-----$> less paint, better paint <$----$> less articulation

McFarlane's are a lot more articulated than he's usually wont to do. Not sure if they're up there with ML, but leagues ahead of the Borderlands figures.

I'd argue that they're more articulated.
You have to work the legs a bit, but their range is greater than most MLs.
The wrists and ankles also have more articulation since they have a ball joint in both meaning the wrists can hinge in any direction vs wherever they're set.
They have toe joints.
The shoulders attach via ball peg, so that's more articulated than the butterfly joint that some ML have.
The elbows bend all the way inward so that their forearms are almost flush against their biceps.
The necks are also attached via a double ball peg, including a peg at the base of the neck (I found that out after pulling off Black Knight's head and accidentally pulling it out where the neck connects to the torso).

The only place where they're worse in terms of range is the thigh swivel. It's there but it has to work around the sculpts vs spinning independent of the hips.

Awesome! How is he at holding guns and 2 handed wepaons? I want him to hold a rifle, a pistol, and a blunt weapon with 2 hands.
Lurking around I heard the figures aren't great with articulation for 2 handed wepaons, if customization is necessary could someone spoonfeed me on how and how much bicep I need to cut off?

Yeah, their biceps are too fat and limit the arm articulation. If you pop the arms off and shave the lower biceps, this will allow for better range of movement.

I finally managed to find one of the jazwares, and I'm honestly really impressed. She can pull off a pretty gun poses without too much work, and looks natural very easily. I didn't realize the single pack ones don't actually come with a gun, though.

Not likely to happen, all those symbols on the body would add up to the manufacturing cost. Management would not go for a figure that cost significantly more than the rest unless either:

A- the brand is doing really well and they might release it as part of a pack

Walmart and Target had them out on the 1st of Dec. and they were picked clean after about a week. Check out Walgreens, they started getting the single figures. Amazon and Target.com have most of them available.

Its not that it is impossible, it is just that it isn't cost effective. The soldier in the picture doesn't have that many applications and those applications are single colors.

If they're anything like marvel legends, I've heard they open the cases at their distribution centers and send lose stuff to their stores. So one store might get an entire batch of one figure, while the one down the block gets something else.

I found yellow headed Firefly in the cosmetic section of Target and had to get him just to find out how good the articulation is.

I'm more than satisfied, despite his arms popping off sometimes.

Not really a fan of of the simplistic cartoon style and i may give him a wash just to realistic him up a bit.
