I kinda like this and the Blitzwing from the same assortment. The Bee and OP from this range are naff, but Barricade was nice and chunky. Wave 2 figures always tend to be a bit better and this is definitely the case here.

Override lore wise is a G1 character, male and Autobot.

Yeah the shoulders are certainly the weakest part of the mold. I love his colors though, as much as I'm glad to own a modern Skids I can't help feel he's a bit bare compared to Crosscut's glorious silver. The feet are a little iffy because the wheels are not stable enough and the arc protrudes too far but the real issue is with the calves.

It's the best just by virtue of the scary evil Bumblebee memes but it's still just not a great toy. The backpack is pretty bad (though it was for just about all movie car bots because they all handle it in the same lazy way), his proportions are awkward, his articulation is garbage in the legs, and he is overall just loose, floppy, and fiddly. It's also just now if the same slightly tweaked Bee mold we saw for show up in literally all 5 movie lines. Even when they came out with the new mold, they were still finding ways to push that thing either by itself or in those LOOK AT ALL THE DIFFERENT BUMBLEBEES multipacks.

That's only the DOTM deluxe. The HFTD Battle Blade Bee is even bigger and he was priced like any other deluxe. When Takara rereleased him as part of the Move The Best line, he was priced between voyager and deluxe and had a special box.

I know most of the figures in Energon were "bad". But they were pretty creative and you gotta love all that solidity and those clicky ratchet joints.

I'm glad the quality went back up with Siege because I was tired of the toys made out of "margarine container" plastics even though the price increased by 1/3. Now only Cyberverse remain being built the cheap-ass way.

Not much. Optimus and Wingsaber (best super mode Optimus ever), Ironhide, Jetfire, Rodimus, that blue Ironhide hommage, Mirage, Wheeljack, that red and white scout spaceship, yellow car guy, the roadster shown above, and the big-ass white snow plow dude. Also scout Arcee and the Insecticon, plus Megatron. Oh yeah, got also Bruticus with the 3P upgrades.
I'm not good at remembering names.

I genuinely want to complete the Energon autobots for maximum mix-n-match madness.

Yeah anon, before we got CW the only combiners most folks collected were the RotF repaints of the Energon combiners, and 3P made a set for both Bruticus and Superion. I got Superion but never got around to getting the addon set.

To be fair on SS bumblebee, the battle mask gimmick was a lot easier to pull of considering all that needs to happen is the to top of the head slide over the face.
Meanwhile the new mask would require an entirely new head to fabricate around the normal head.

I mean you could cheat and just have two heads attached to one platform that can flip around depending on what head you want, not dissimilar to the head of that one powercore combiner healicopter.

BTW, Wheeljack is pretty amazing. The bot look right and the vehicle is perfect. Plus Jetfire is pretty damn solid. Little jet guy have a bad case of VHS, but he's still nice.
