DS1 had Issac, Hammond, Kendra, Nicole, some of the guys already aboard the Ishimura like Mercer (or whatever that one religious zealot guy's name was) Kaine (or...uh, whatever THAT guy's name was. The guy who tries to help Issac take the Marker back to the surface) You could also have some of the generic guys that come with Issac, Hammond, and Kendra on that little ship to the Ishimura.
There's characters like Ellie, Stross, and Tideman from DS2. Carver and some of the other guys from DS3
Even if they did one or two waves, there's plenty of vehicles, ships, etc, that they could do.

They could make the bits a bit ambiguous and make them look something like the Hive Thrall from the Destiny line. I mean, they're willing to do Xenomorphs and shit from Aliens, so I don't think they couldn't figure out way to do at least a few generic slashers, and stuff.
