Something is really off about Giorno's head. Like his hair is either too tall or his features are smooshed, but it doesn't look right. Also once again Medicos fucks up by releasing another Giorno (albeit a statue) in a color they've already done. Hopefully we get a 2nd that isn't pink.

I didn't get Diego or D4C because Diego not coming with his split mouth was where I officially gave up so I can't comment on them.
Funny had horrible paint apps and fairly limited posability, Johnny is a bit better but still feels like a step down from previous parts with his peg neck and slack jawed retard face.

Those were mostly very minor things that were spaced out and not every fucking figure in the line.
There were a few annoying ones like the Kosaku head for Kira, awakened Giorno and the smiling Joseph head but nothing on the level of Johnny's stand being an exclusive.

I want to start a JJBA collection. I've been lurking this thread for a few weeks. I've read troublesome scales, lots of QCs and important characters being sold exclusively to the japanese market, allowing lots of scalpering.

But I love JoJo. Should I invest in the new line, SAS B.I.G? I loved the reviews.
And secondly, will SAS B.I.G line ends? I saw a DIO prototype.

Only if you have shitload of money, you should hop in. I really like SAS no matter what - even most of problems reported here are minor... Ofc there is the whole Part 3 line, butt-neck of Josuke, or butchered Part 6, though. But mostly, I'd recomend it. You'll lose all your money and all of faith in humanity, but you'll get some of the best figures Japan can offer.

Doesn't seem BIG will become something big, btw. but we should wait wonfes, it's only month away - if there won't be any new BIGs, you can say goodbye to the line.

They are all pretty easy to find if you’re willing to pay enough money. I guess relatively speaking green Mista and Abbachio can be a little tricky but even they are still relatively common place.

Part 5 was when they really ramped up production so there’s an abundance in the wild.

I guess unless you count the Swarovski, in which case Gold Experience is the rarest.

I remember around june 2018 seeing a mista on hlj for 35 usd, and now he isn't even on there anymore, and the cheapest i can find a green mista new is fucking 80 dollars on Amazon currently - i checked literally half way through December and it was 70. it fuckin increased by 10 dollars in 3 weeks. as much as i like it, id much rather wait and pay a reasonable price. tho i might get one of those new statues of the part 5 gang from that one company that I forget the name of, but it starts with b and has glasses/mask as their logo.

Marketing but aftermarket is a hell of a savior if you know where to look and wait it out long enough for specific releases. The re-releases and a few unpopular figures can be found for decent prices unless you aim for the sought after characters (though certain cases like Star Platinum 3rd jacking up in price due to late comers buying him in droves was a surprise to me).

Same here - it took me 3+ years to complete my Part5 collection. That's omitting all repeating character, like I don't need Mista 2nd if i already have Mista 1st. But I did collect other parts characters and a lot of nendoroids while at it.
Waiting and checking shops regularly are the main key. This way I was able to get Part 5 Polnareff for 3500 JPY from amiami - it's been 2 years since then, and I still can't believe my luck.

And answering the question about work more directly - I work at somewhat IT company, but it's slav country and even salary of 350$ allowed to buy some figures, pay bills and eat nice food. Life here is cheap. In all senses.

I know Medicos is slow but they will eventually push those out plus they seem to be more willing to cut characters like how they did Yoichi for Drifters leaving the trio incomplete. Unless someone can correct me but I can't see that. They can splash Diego with yellow paint and cut off the WF only head for general release.

Though I suppose at this speed I might as well be in a coma before anything truly major drops like Kenshiro.

These aren't all of my Part 5 figures together, but super proud of this pose I just did. On the bottom level, only Abbacchio is supported by a stand: Bucciarati is being held up entirely by his hair. Trish is held upright by Narancia, while her weight on his legs is allowing his torso to stay upright so he can hold onto Giorno.

The whole thing is a house of cards and I'm not going to keep it like this, but I had to show it off.

I've come to realize a lot of what makes a proper jojo pose is the angle of the legs and feet, the abdomen and the neck. If you look at arakis art, those 4 joints are typically at strange angles. I guess in order to make a pose look less stiff and more dynamic and "araki", try bending some of those joints around into weird places.

Medicos, it falls in line with the random IP choices for non-JoJo figures. Some line up with anime adaptions at the time but then you get stuff like Parasyte where the figure as designed off the manga.

The shit that went up today on mandarake straigh up gave me chills. I thought the anime inflation had already struck but clearly we had seen nothing yet. I have at least one edition of every figure they've release with the exception of the part 2 cast. I have a couple of recolors for characters I really like but that's about it. Funny thing, I read part 5 December/ January in 2017/18 and bought the gang through the early parts of the year. I finished buying them about a month or two after the anime was announced. I have each protag and antag with their stand. I have both regular Joseph and WF Joseph and pink and the non WF blue Giorno. For Jolyne, I went with the WF version instead of the regular version. Still hoping they make a red SF, but for now I'm fine with the regular version. The only side character I have is WF Gyro. I'd post a pic, but I haven't taken an updated one and I'm away from home. Currently I'm waiting for Tusk, D4C and Diego. I'm waiting to see if they get a 2nd or regular release of their 1st version like Johnny and Valentine.

The same thing happened to mine. Just superglue in the gap there and press and hold the wing on. Should stay just fine. Loctite will work with this fix, it's what I used, but otherwise, that glue doesn't take to their plastic normally.

I found the statue legend set loose at a second hand shop in Tokyo for about ¥2000 a few years back that I bought up just on the off chance I may need it to complement a SAS Proscuitto so I’m good.

Either the production process got fucked along the way and Gyro is just stuck with this or they rushed and refuse to rework it. I know promo pics to the actual mass production figures isn't fair but Gyro was definitely flustered a lot of people on release when they saw the paint.

Dio Black Version has a yellow set but it's sculpted differently. Just be ready for a shitty figure due to poor quality control. There's also a FoTNS Revoltech Kenshiro that came with something similar but I don't know how expensive or rare it is nowadays.

So, we know the rest of the Part 7 cast recolors have release dates that will be revealed, as well as Prosciutto, but there's still some possibilities when it comes to prototypes. I'm hoping for Tusk and The World to wrap up Part 7 for now. And I think the most likely part 5 figures they'd make are probably Doppio and Risotto, Grateful Dead is pretty much a guarantee as they've never really left a user without their stand (bar Johnny possibly). I'm really hoping we get Ghiaccio but that's wishful thinking.
