Black Series Archives are showing up at Target and some comic shops.

Walmart has cut the Star Wars area down to barely half a section.

Lots and lots of Star Wars clearance.

Resistance figures nobody wanted are out.

My Walmart is being a heckuva tease. Still has a Star Wars section with the Solo wave and TVC pegwarmers but they fixed it to add more pegs recently with 19.87 tags. Asked the employee and they're not allowed to check the backroom nor can reveal if or when there's new stuff coming out...at this point I think I might get IG at Target and wait for Boba, Bossk.

The way my Walmart works, there's one person per department who stocks and cleans the entire section. Usually. Today I saw some... toy representatives including Nintendo?... in the Lego aisle so the reset is in full swing. But damn it's inconsistent. Used to be every Friday then Tuesday.

Managed to get one of the few of this guy that Kokomo toys had in stock a few days ago.

Easily my favorite Star Wars figure in years, he will also probably be my last bar maybe a couple of the new stormtrooper mold and that mimban stormtrooper if it ever comes out in the states.

There’s a new stormtrooper coming for VC in what I think is the next wave for April, I could be wrong but it may just be a resculpt of the mimban stormtrooper to be a normal stormtrooper variant. Also forgot to mention but I also will pick up the klaatu in skiff outfit and possibly the imperial engineer, but that’s it for Star Wars for me unless anything at toy fair peaks my interest.

Walmart has been trying the whole do more with less employees shit, as it stands if it's new off the truck it gets stocked on 3rd at my store. Anything already binned through, no one short of the toy dm will likely touch it.

Doesnt help most backrooms are still flooded by to many toys because the plan this past Christmas was to replace tru by sending 30% more toys to every store with no fucks given that they stores didn't have room for 30% more toys

The amount of time it would take to find someone to bring it down and dig through them all would be stupidly long. Reset is the only time I don't feel bad for telling customers to fuck off if they ask to check the back.

After the mods are done and the pallets worked hopefully toys will be back to some semblance of normalcy after the clusterfuck that was Christmas.

Just received a lot of old Star Wars figs (mainly POTF era), which for the most part were good except for some reason R2-D2's freeze frame looks like this.

I couldn't take a decent photo of it but the colours are completely fucked and the whole thing is covered in what looks like cracks and burn marks.

I highly recommend him. Great articulation, sculpting is superb, yakface even has glossy like paint around his nostrils and mouth to create a saliva like effect. My only complaint is that his left hand can’t grip the electro staff he comes with, and it seems to me that originally he was supposed to come with a drinking glass like the one his card image depecits him with. It’s a shame but nevertheless I’m so glad to finally have him.

It saddens me too, what angers me is even in the sequels/spin offs there’s background aliens just like him that I want as figures, but since disney is retarded when it comes to marketing Star Wars and they apparently don’t want any money that doesn’t come from main characters and reissues, and as >>7332842 showed they got what they deserved. Hopefully hasbro will show off more figures like yak at toy fair, but even if they don’t I’ll still enjoy him, I’m mostly done with Star Wars anyways so if they don’t want my business then it’s their loss.

Boardgames sell, fingerlings sell, etc.
Issue is most stores would get retarded amounts of the same 10 or so items, a rural walmart can't possibly sell 200+ Sorry boardgames and you've essentially sent said store almost a years stock worth of it.

Another issue is they were heavy on the female, preschool toys, and boardgames but at the same time the boys toys that sold well would barely get in a box or 2 a week so they were perpetually almost if not totally out of stock for toys boys would mainly be interested in ala Jurassic World, Bakugon, and beyblades.

As far as SW toys in particular go currently most areas are still clogged with the worst black series shelf warmers and theres more than a few Roses perpetually stuck on the clearance isles because even on clearance no one wants to pay $4 for it

the feet would have to be made of gold, not even lead, to do anything because of how large the upper torso is.

I thought about buying the model, but apparently it has worse articulation than the black series. Only thing going for the model is that it has clear joints like the Black series.

the BS version is honestly great for K-2SO. Like the others have said, the second wave of the figure had red eyes and I think it really doesn't look good. I would swap that one out for an original personally.

You just gotta kinda half move the feet.
They're ratcheted so they have a few set positions. Just gently adjust them into a half position. Feels weird but its really the only way of doing it.

Finished the new Star Wars section today at my walmart, it's fucking pathetic. The only things not on the shelf yet for Star Wars are the BS Archives and some weird cheapo story in a box thing. The other 40% of the section is our knock off GI joes.

Meanwhile Jurassic World gets a full 4 foot section.

All the new SW characters are in painfully generic "off the rack" clothing that looks like they could belong to any toy line. from the 6" Black series you have Finn, a decent figure, but he's in a black shirt, black pants, white shoes and a mustard jacket. Poe Dameron looks like he could belong in any franchise too- hell, give him a Han Solo head and he's Indiana Jones. Rose, a character wasted on wearing what amounts to a garage mechanic outfit. Rey's Jedi training figure almost looks like she belongs in the franchise, but oh... those arms... please don't tell me her actress really has those stick arms like the toy does.

And overall the Finn & Rose "disguise" figures needed to include alternate "generic" heads so they could stand in as other characters. Give Stormtrooper Finn an unbloodied helmet, give the officer disguise figures swappable officer heads, anything. Officer Rose comes with 2 droids and still isn't selling.

I don't pay mind to the Trumpets crying over SW, they aren't fans nor were ever going to buy things, it's mostly Israel ass-kissers glad that Drumpf props up that joke of a country that makes most Jews look bad and invokes the Holocaust every time they do something horrible. However the actual fans are back to the levels of the prequel toys where things were produced in high quantities and had dumb gimmicks, along with the lack of Lucas foresight to make designs that were meant to be toys, and this time with Hasbro's higher prices on everything.

When I can buy POTF2 on eBay SHIPPED for less than what a 5 POA modern toy costs, Hasbro can go fuck themselves.

I always loved that speeder.. just really sexy. iirc it belonged to some senator in the EU. I bought the old 2002 hasbro version some years ago on amazon and did some repainting myself/added some details, better metallic paint & weathering on the engines etc and I always thought it holds up surprisingly well as a display piece as long as you touch it up a bit. That 3d printed version is absolutely next-level though, puts my pathetic hasbro toy to shame haha.

Obviously Zam Wesells speeder is cool too, but I skipped on the hasbro version since it had an annoying physical battle damage effect on it that seemed impossible to really mask.

The bad thing about that was the crumple-up feature used rubber that started to get tacky and the paint started to peel. Not a good long term toy.

If I still had my store, I wouldn't even try to sell toys when they were current. Oh, I'd order like I was, but I'd stuff every case in the basement for a minimum two years. Sometimes the reason your stores suck is that people in your area are too cheap or not really fans (they want a deal more than any particular product). Maybe not you personally but enough in aggregate that the ordering algorithm makes the same decision I did.

I sympathize, I really do, but you really need to order online, like I do, unless you want local poorfags to dictate the contents of your collection.

It's still there. If your local Walmart is downsizing the SW section, note that some Walmarts tend to do this every few years. One of my local stores has just lightsabers now, while another one still has TBS on the planogram and just added Resistance figures.

What weirds me out is that the Resistance ones all got snatched up within a day. I don't get it, is there some secret group of diehard Resistance fans out there? Even with the novelty of them being new Star Wars toys I wouldn't expect them to be immediate sellers, much less wiped out in one day.

If your stores don't even have space for them, keep in mind Walmart and Target are both in the process of updating their toy aisles, some stores get it done a week after Christmas and some don't get around to it until fucking February.

Yeah, in general it seems like SW stuff is sparse during the first half of the year unless there's a movie, and Solo was the first spring/early summer movie we've had in ages so last year was kind of an exception. I don't even know why this happens, I just know it's been that way for years.

Shows a lack of creativity and just done to fill in space.

Hasbro used to do it way better. It gave kids an understanding of how the character was to be played with, who they were, and advertisment for all the other figures that should be available on the shelves to get them to buy more.

Short answer is they are trying to counter the outcries with SW collectors that have a small stroke when a rare toy is reissued. They got a lot of angry emails and many forums had slight meltdowns when Darth Revan and Jaina were reissued to meet demand.

A lot of people (correctly say) IG-88 is a smidget too small, and I would have to agree. For some reason his height is smaller than it really is. When the photo was taken for the movie, IG-88 is a step BELOW everyone else.

Yeah, it's very rare that anyone gets his height right. I'm so used to IG-88 figures being a more moderate size than what the actual prop was though, so I'm not too bothered by it. It might be because I went years without realizing he's actually not on the same platform as everyone else. Still, his head being too small is a lot easier to notice than his height being off.

I think the height mistake keeps being repeated because it's what everyone is used to and very few people even know it's wrong. No idea why the head is fucked up though.

On that note I want to know why Hasbro seems absolutely determined to always give Grievous an upright posture. It was understandable for the first figures in 2005 when they were going off the first images of him but I don't think Hasbro's made a single Grievous figure with the familiar hunched posture (besides the animated ones). It's like nobody who's ever assigned to Grievous figures has ever actually watched ROTS.

You may as well just buy him online. It's $25 plus shipping which is crap but you'll be paying much more in gas if you drive all the way there. Even worse if it turns out he's not even stocked there since not every Disney Store actually has TBS figures.
