>>7366228There's a lot of stuff that doesn't work the way you'd expect it to if you're coming from other TCGs, one of which being that all keywords check if they're online as the card is resolving; this means that for Sacrifice cards you don't discard a card as part of the card's cost, you discard a card as part of its effect, which means you only discard a card as it's resolving, not as it's being cast. This is 100% counter-intuitive if you're coming from MtG where the discard would be a cost and paid when the card is cast, and even the complete rules don't fully clarify this interaction.
This doesn't even touch on how negate effects currently work, which is not fully explained in the complete rules either but according to the design team they resolve immediately upon being played, and therefore cannot be responded to. So if you play a card and its effect enters the batch (sort of like the stack in MtG), then I negate it, your card's effect is immediately removed from the batch and there's nothing you can do. You can't even negate a negate effect as negates can only target effects that enter the batch, and negate effects bypass the batch by resolving instantly, so they never become a valid target for other negate effects since they never enter the batch.
tl;dr they did a lot of things sort of similar to MtG, then did some things so wildly differently that the differences will be incredibly confusing to most people. It won't kill the game or anything, but it will make it a bit of a hassle to get into for people with history in other TCGs.
