Was watching a vid today and a interesting question came up in it. If you had it to do all over again or starting over from scratch would you do anything different from when you started?

For me I'd pick a theme a stick with it. I started out collecting transformers cherry picking fav characters. Then I started collecting what over looked cool and dabbed into various lines. As a result my shelves are a cluster fuck that I'm now trying to organize to fit my current taste.

Now my rooms are swamped with toys, lurking in /toy/ with the rest of you losers, constantly checking MFC & Mandarake for updates everyday like a fucking life routine. Premise is unclear, does that mean going back in time to before I was collecting with the knowledge I have now, or just *poof* no more collection what do now? If it's the former I'd go out and buy a shitload of Lego to keep boxed away to resell later, and skip most of the junk I bought that's just ended up gathering dust. I would definitely still collect, I'd just be more selective, and I'd grab a lot more of the "maybe" ones I passed on that later regretted not getting. But if you just mean starting from scratch right now, I'd honestly be relieved to be rid of most of it and would only re-purchase a tiny fraction while being pissed about all the money that just vanished.

Maybe if i had to restart from when i was 5 years old and bought some really fucking stupid toys, but everything since i became an adult i bought because i want it.

Boggles my mind that there are people here who apparently just like wasting money and building up a collection just to buy it and feel burdened by it.

Only shit i feel is a burden are some of my speakers, because they cost a lot and weigh a lot. Cars? Nope. House? Nope. School? Eh, that would require time traveling. Same with exes.

If I HAD to start all over again? I'm not sure I could be bothered. If I were forced to do so at gunpoint? Would I do anything different? Not really, I've always been very methodical even with cheaper shit. Maybe I'd mix some things up here and there but not too much.

i would try to reduce the quatity of transformers i bought during 2008-2011 or used simple toys.
other than that, it would be the same mixfuck of different franchises with clashing themes on my shelves, maybe it will be even more mixed with more toys bought with the money saved by not buying that many transformers.
