Any chances we'll see new tmnt sets? I've been hoarding each and everyone I can find cause I love that line that much. I'm at least hoping they'll rerelease a few classic series characters like the dimension x soldiers or splinter under the heroes banner. I really hope they don't drop the tmnt license.

I honestly have no idea. They haven't really showed off anything new for TMNT for a while either, have that?

I guess they at least get a figure or two out in the Heroes line from time to time, so maybe they're not letting the license totally die, but who knows.

Shits just more expensive in general; including toys. This combined with how generously big mega sets used to be makes a reasonable price seem expensive.

Besides now is the time we should be supporting mega more than ever with them floundering about and squandering the potential they had a few years back to truly beat lego. I like Mega enough that them staying in business is more important to me than saving 10 bucks on a set.

Mega and mattel took a major hit when toys r us closed and stiffed them on owed debt.

Then stores like walmart are always going to force the manufacturer to reduce the base prices so they can make more by doing less. Then on top of that mega is frequently shoplifted. Than everyone is all why doesnt my store ever restock?

Where would one even come to that conclusion, or find stats to support that?

I would say far more of an issue is the fact that Mega seems to be a toyline that many people want, but only sorta want, so it is almost exclusively bought on discount, or at rock-bottom price outlet stores.

It also doesn't help Mega's reputation that the average person who might buy it (building-block fans, like people who like LEGO and whatnot) seem to be adamant in the idea that Mega never evolved beyond the 1990s and the quality of their product is garbage at worst, barely passable bootleg-tier at best because they haven't even tried to buying anything from the line in years, if not a decade or two.

The thing I hear a lot with toy collectors is that they don't like the proportiins of mega figures. They'r semi realistic, oddly proportioned, with big hands and feet.

Also, the whole container thing is weird. We have the gray and red containers redux with one figure, but the WW2 and Haznat containers were releases after those, and they have 2 figures.

Huge missed opportunity, for sure. In fact, it just seems really weird to have all those unique pieces and parts made in those colors and have all that cool shit built for what amounted to just a big display at 1 or 2 shows.

LEGO sure as hell doesn't want to do any classic, fun space stuff anymore, and would just rather rely on the crutch of Star Wars, so Mega doing a "Kinda sci-fi futuristic, but still somewhat grounded and realistic" space theme would have been great.

My source? My eyes. I got into any walmart or target and I can find an open blind bag or carded figure remains, the troop sets get opened and theyll gank the displayed figure. Same for larger sets, I will iften find them open and missing the appealing figures, toys r us was the worst for that. And it really pisses me off. I can buy it, maybe mega will replace the figure or maybe theyll send me something completely different as a sub. Either way, I dont have much options, buy a shoplifted large set or buy it on amazon for triple the msrp.

There was another turtle and Shredder listed somewhere for the Heroes line. It'd be super easy to pad Heroes with colored versions of E&L turtle figures. I imagine rereleasing the Fred Wolf turtles with plastic brown shells, Splinter with sleeves, and Rock Soldiers could fill up a third of each wave for a long while if they wanted to.

Dragons is what really helped Mega come out of Lego's shoadow. I'd love to see them return to it with theire new figures. I'd also like to see those big baseplates make a come back too but I'm not holding my breath.

Second this. Their design team has a great sense of scifi/fantasy aesthetic. They are abit oversaturated with sci fi and license stuff right now and should return to pure fantasy. Breakout beasts is a good first step.

Mostly CoD, but also buy Halo for the vehicles and Destiny for the enemy figs and weapons. Also the pro builder vikings and beyonder stuff, classic and movie TMNT and the MCX heroes. Shit, I’ve also gotten a few breakout beasts.

So mainly CoD and whatever can be used with minifigs.

In fact I started playing the CoD games and reading the Halo books because the figures. I also want to start watching Vikings, because people keep refering to the tattoed mohawk viking in the probuilder as Ragnar or some shit.

Yes they will stress out mega hands. I pick the disposable or unique ones and file down their grips to fit mega hands. Ive had to do the same to asscreed flintlock pistols cause those were always too big for mega hands.

Going back to the tmnt topic, someone should run the idea past mega bloks of continuing the classics line but doing something akin to neca where all the future sets are just based off things that appear in the arcade game. Imagine all the time variants they could make, alongside new characters like tokka or rhazar, maybe a usagi yojimbo, a few of the mutanimals, metalhead,etc. The sky really is the limit with tmnt, so here's crossing my fingers we see some more stuff.

The small sets were pretty meh. I think people got tired of all the Sparrows. And the hive horde set was kinda eh, but what can you do with that, and it was sort of a figure/army builder pack in a way.

But all the large sets like the Jumpships, the tanks, the Cabal dropship, the Fallen Walker were all great.

I'm not sure what they could have done to make them better.

The issue I saw with Destiny was the higher price for less playability.

For the same price you could get the Aspect of Glass with one figure, one gun and a ship with opening cockpit. Or a ghost chopper with 3 figures, a care package, a bunch of guns and accessories.

That makes it easy to wait for discounts or shit.

Pretty sure we had this discussion some time ago, and while we obviously can't be 100% certain, it made sense that the higher price was due to the fact that;

1.) Many of the sets hand brand new, sometimes very unique piece molds
2.) The figures, or at the very least all of the armor parts, all of the weapons, the molds for all the enemy parts and bodies were entirely new.

The Destiny line brought in a lot of new, unusual, or unique pieces, parts, and figures that required brand new molds which ups the cost.

The Jumpships were pretty much the only sets that had one figure, too. Most of the other sets had at least two or three, including the Sparrows which often had 3, or at least two, including a big Cabal fucker.

I think the prices were fine, and this line of thinking that they're too expensive is precisely what kills these lines, I guess.

Stopped by on my way home to check for HotWheels and saw 2 complete sets in the Valentines day toy display. If your area stores didn't stock them like in mine, check Krogers if you have one. What gets me is how short a life these have. I found the new assortment in august, they never restocked them since october. So there is a 2 to 3 month window and of course that is assuming a scalper doesnt beat me there first.

While I still haven't found a T-800 in person, I assume the lack of wrists and elbows is because the sculpts look just a little thinner than standard Mega bodies, and I assume it made them too weak/risky to insert joints. However, I think most people would gladly have accepted a bit more thickness in the arms to have full articulation.

Which Mega Construx lines would you guys want to see in the future?
I would like to see Thundercats,Naruto,more Star Trek and that's it I think. Fast and Furious would be cool but I think Lego would do it better.

Mega did have a 20XX-looking Battlecat hanging around when they first displayed the Grayskull set, according to Google, but it looks kind of assy.

As for the Loyal Subjects, I’m gonna get them because I’ve got a running thing where I keep and display He-Man, Skeletor, and Man-At-Arms. My MOTUCs have cats, so it’d be nice to get rides for my LS and MC figures.

I’d kind of love Street Fighter—Mega does a good job with effects pieces, and they’re pretty poseable, plus the backgrounds are usually just something that could be bricked up. They could even do some TMNT-style gimmicky mini-sets, like the barrel-buster mini-game from SF2.
And more Hellboy. Really need some church ruins, werewolves, and frogs.

If they had done a fresh take on the source material, revamped some of the old vehicles and playsets, then it might have been more appealing. Mattel's grabbing for the quick nostagia cash. I'm fine with it if it's the only thing that keeps Mega Construx hobbling along, but they have to come up with some sort of strategy to get the brand standing on its own two feet again. They can't keep propping it up with familiar licenses and IPs.

I had zero interest in MOTU whatsoever aside from seeing Skeletor as kind of a cute and ineffective villain. Also yeah, Resident Evil would be fucking awesome. Neca did say that Capcom wanted them to focus in the monsters and not the human characters, though, so I don’t think Mega would invest in a bunch of new molds to be used once or twice.

My main problem is that I honestly don't like the look of the Cabal ships, and I have no room to display that big of a set anyway. I basically want that set for the Cabal guys and of course, Cayde, who commands crazy prices himself on the aftermarket. So whatever price I pay is ultimately for 5 figures and a bunch of bricks that will probably sit in storage or get sold off for way less than they're worth. (as an aside, I'm not good at MOCing and I have very little time to do stuff like that anymore anyway, so the bricks won't be used as fodder either)

I would love some tall, gangly marionettes from DMC1. They could be the size of the Vexx Goblins.

Come to think of it, I'd be way more excited for all the demons/monsters from DMC than any of the protags or supporting characters. I'd take a good DMC3 Dante and Lady though.

I'm sad that it wasn't a more prolific theme for them, cause Futurama has so much potential for fun sets and I love so many of the side characters. I would actually kill for a giant Planet Express/ship set and a Roberto minifig. There was one in the CoD Riverboat, cheaper would be the Assassins Creed Adewale figure. He's pretty cheap and can still be found in a handful of 5 belows.

More muscular is He-Man. He's in a few modern sets.
