What I mainly want is the cool trans representation we got to continue. I mean Arcee is always trans to me now, every version ever, and I'm just worried some writer will try to shoehorn in a way to say she's not (like have her talk about how she's on cyber-birth control so she doesn't get robo-pregnant or some other bullshit like CNA tests)
Honestly all the TF girls should be trans imo. I don't think that would fly with most people (cisnormative standards and all) but why not? Yes half the population of Cybertron is female, yes they were assigned male at forging (AMAF) by an oppressive patriarchal society, yes they're all kickass, and smarter and better than the male characters (I like when books have realism like this lol).
Also let's turn more traditionally male characters female too to balance things out. Personally I've always favored doing this with a character like Sideswipe, who as a dude is just another tough bot who acts rashly and blah blah blah. But we don't get a lot of female characters like that. Closest one I can think of is Prime Arcee, and I love her, so let's make Sideswipe more like Prime Arcee! A tough lady who can handle anything thrown at her, with biting sarcasm and a temper that causes her to act rashly (although let's make something else for her to get angered about than just dead boyfriends?)
Make Ratchet a girl too, just like the original bio! There's such a dearth of older/elderly female characters in most fiction, and in Transformers I can't think of a single one! ("bad nerd rule number one: all female characters must be young and hot so they can be objectified")
I just hope the new comic passes the Bechdel Test! (TAAO/Windblade was good with this iirc, so was TF/Op and even MTMTE/LL at times)
