Went to a market yesterday, and picked up 4 bags of bricks, mostly grey, with a bunch of antenna, old radar dishes and tiles. Managed to fill a 10698 classic box to the brim, with it contents, and about £20 worth of Lego. Good P/P ratio.

This is actually just the first wave, and without any of the "ultimate" fig sets.

I'm still kinda bummed that I never saw the poly bags in stores. I have all the other sets, but they just don't seem worth buying and shipping other than for completion.

Made a Starscream version of my Transformer, mostly because I thought his chest already looked a bit seeker-like and could actually become part of the cockpit. Also his feet become the tip, which works out colorwise as well
(And I realized I really need some of those 1x1 plates with bar in grey)

i would definitely steal few pieces before my good part would say "p-please n-no more senpai...".
Other than that - i don't have any stories.
it's hard to do anything devilish if it's just a bunch of expensive boxes in a store.

But i heard some stories about few people that got their minifigures stolen by their poorfaggot-friends when they were kids during 90s. And then they noticed their minifig when they were at friend's place.

This also a reason of why mom didn't let me bring friends to our place when i was a kid. Most of people were poor during 90s in my side of europe.
Now i understand how shocked those kids could be if they see me having 2 nes (one regular and other is a weird clone with cool light gun) and sega mega drive with tons of cartriges and many toys.
They would probably get jealous and hate me or something. (back in the 90s one Castle set used to cost the same amount some people were getting for month of hard work)

I generally try out the various shapes first, to see if they're possible to capture in Lego, then I'll either start with a small technic chassis, and build up, or build frames that capture the wheel spacing right, as the rods on the side, called "the motion", are generally the hardest part to complete, along with making them line up with the cylinders. From there it's trial and error as to how it goes together. You might have to do full rebuilds from time to time, and that's okay. The simplest shapes are often the hardest to capture, too. Then again, I try to make stuff accurately as possible.

I got this for 27 bucks along with a bunch of other sets (local store had 40% off on top of already marked clearance prices in the toy dept) Such a shame it's just a mock front with barely any embellishments. At least it's the same color scheme as the Daily Bugle building I picked up years ago. Might combine these to give the Daily Bugle a few more floors. Pity they only had the one, if I could have gotten two at that price I'd attempt making a back half to the Daily Bugle (which I use as a normal office building anyway).

At least the bulldozer is neat looking. I'll definitely part out the cop shit because my Lego police state has too many armored SWAT vehicles and assault choppers as-is.

Honestly, I don't think you need more than 16 of one guy to make an army. 16 minifigs is enough to represent an army unless you have a big moc that you need to fill up with figs. Obviously 99% of people who want to build a Minifig army, whether it's Clones, or skellies, or knights, won't be able to afford having an actual 1:1 scale army to match real life. There's nothing you can do to use all these guys unless you make a huge moc, which I really doubt this kid will ever do.

Creating an army is more about the vehicles and things you can build to fortify it than the individual soldier. Minifigures are expensive, in both a real world and strategic sense! Each clone-trooper based vehicle usually only comes with a couple, as opposed to what would actually be the capacity in-lore, so you better make sure they survive long enough to count!

There's supposedly another spaceman battle pack coming out in the summer, so hopefully that has black and red at least

Dunno about you guys but my blue CS torsos have held up better than any of the other colors so it's a little less hassle to find nice-looking ones. I have one that still looks almost mint.

Here’s some more of what I found: some stuff for the Egyptian set (including a weird Anubis head), Sebulba, and strangely the big troll from LotR. I have absolutely no memory of ever having this. Also found some more of the pirate stuff and some of the old Atlantis stuff that I’ll post later!

Man, I was born in 1981 and I had Lego sets before I could form memories. Classic Castle, Space, etc. Those were the shit. I think I was getting System sets as early as 1986(?) because I had Lion Knights and a few pre-Futuron sets and every subsequent Castle and Space theme up to Fright Knights and those weird alien Space ones when I was 16 or 17 in the late 90s and decided I was going to stop doing Lego because I was one of those teenagers that thought I had to leave behind the things I loved once I hit a certain age... But not to mention the sets around the late 90s weren't as appealing to me and Lego was starting to shift its focus to licensed sets with Star Wars, etc. and I wasn't really a big enough fan of SW to justify getting Lego sets of it.

Fast forward to 2011. I'm 30 and I have a decent paying job and for some reason I got really nostalgic about Lego, which I hadn't touched in at least 10 to 12 years. Suddenly, I just start going on Lego shopping sprees, getting some weird stuff like the Atlantis, Pharoah's Quest, etc. Finally decided I could no longer resist Star Wars sets anymore because their quality was peaking around 2012~2014 with some truly iconic sets and their intrigue was hard to deny. Oh, and of course the modulars, which I really thought I was going to be getting each one from here on out... Until I lost my job and my main source of income, and then struggled for the next couple years. I entered a financial dark age where buying Lego sets was the last thing on my mind.

Fast forward to 2019. My wife and I are into Overwatch and while on vacation I bought a small Overwatch set on a whim and after putting it together I caught the Lego bug again, full force. In the past two and a half weeks I've managed to spend over $400 on Lego Star Wars alone, as well as a couple more Overwatch sets and I plan on picking up that Classic Space looking set from the new Lego movie. It's hard to stop, but I feel like I'm making up for lost time.
