Pokeplushproject on flikr used to be a good resource, it's been abandoned for years. I'm not aware of any more current databases.

Yeah, the blocky head translates well into a Pop design but I'm also surprised they kept the proportions accurate. They didn't shrink the body or omit any major details, literally the only thing wrong with it is the eyes. Their old Pikachu looks so much worse due to the body distortion, even though the eyes are pretty much what Pikachu already has anyway minus the highlights.

It was more damage control than an announcement. Basically a "don't worry if you dont like this casual shit, we'll still have a proper game next year" to satisfy the most hardcore players. There's a big difference between "yeah, we're making another game" and a full on reveal.

Pokemon fans are often bad for buying into fake rumours, but this is sheer wishful thinking. If this is really a common belief, you're going to be very disappointed for the next few months.

Because announcing a new game weeks after the last ones have come out means that many people who may have bought Lets Go in the near future will instead just wait for the next, presumably bigger/better game, coming a bit later.

It would be like if Nintendo announced their rumoured new Switch models coming this year at last years E3. Would you rush out and buy a Switch when hearing that news, or wait a bit longer, knowing that something better is coming? This would be cannibalising their sales to a ridiculous degree.

Pokemon Go was a F2P spinoff mobile game, it doesn't eat into the sales of mainline stuff. Let's Go is a full price game developed by Gamefreak and, like it or not, is considered a main series game.

Revealing it now just makes no sense if it's not due out until the end of the year, especially as Masuda explicitly stated he regretted how early Sun/Moon were announced.

We're not the intended audience. They're going for a more artsy-fartsy crowd, the kind of demographic that was big into designer vinyl back in the day and gives Medicom a lot of business. This line has been a thing for a little while, mostly doing Disney and Pixar characters up until now. I think they're pretty ugly too, but again, we're not who they're gunning for here, so if the hipsters give Sentinel the money they need to make their more conventional stuff, more power to them.

Being Shodo, certainly articulated, they've done lines for DBZ(possibly undersized for 1/18, but about the right size), Ultraman(sticking to around 100mm for Ultraman himself for scale), and Kamen Rider(most figures are 100mm or scaled appropriately).

Meaning Charizard might be the same size as Mewtwo(who I expect at approximately 100mm or 4 inches), I've no idea how they're going to handle Mew, and there may be missing back paint.

Why would we spend money on shit toys? If something half decent like that Gengar, Dragonite, or Gyarados comes along then sure I'll pick them up; but as of now the WCT line leaves a lot to be desired, and just because it's the only option right now does not compel me to buy every single thing they push out. Especially for things that Tomy just outright beat them at.
